    All errands done, if I start drinking now I won't go out and spend more money. Starting with Southern Tier's 2XIPA while I start planting all the flowers, vegetables and herbs I bought earlier. Cheers!

    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Jet black body; head is thin and fizzy. Excellent blends of whiskey, baker's chocolate, charred grain and oats in the aroma. The taste is rich and dark, highlighting notes of cocoa and chocolate chip cookies; definite whiskey flavor; bitter; faint hint of dates. Heavy body; thick and chewy; definite alcohol warmth burning through the residual sugars.

    Like a previous reviewer, I wasn't sure whether to review this beer here or create a new listing. But, since the base beer is barrel-aged T.O.R.I.S and the ABV are the same, I guess this is the best spot for it. In this case, this version is "Rocky Mountain Barrel Aged" T.O.R.I.S. The label does state this beer is "(a)ged in very special Colorado whiskey barrels..." and is a "...rare version...". Without a doubt, this is one powerful and tasty dark beer, rich and complex, with a distinct barrel aged whiskey kick. Good stuff...

    Chimay Tripel.

    I guess this must be this year's edition. It has no year on it like Chimay Blue. But on the back it reads L19. The Blue that's in the supermarket is 2019 for some months now.

    Can't tell if there's a difference with last year. Only had it once or twice then. Good and interesting tripel however. I'll have more of it this year for sure.

    [​IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Hopslam Snulip glass canned 4/27/19. Pours a very hazy attractive dark yellow with a massive 2 plus finger sticky slightly off white head that leaves thick rings of webby lace as it slowly settles. 4.5

    Smell is papaya, cantaloupe, tangerine, pineapple, and a hint of grapefruit rind. 4.25

    Taste follows follows tropical front to back papaya, melon, pineapple, apricot, mandarin, and just tiny hit of grapefruit extremely well balanced. 4.5

    Mouthfeel is big, soft and gentle on the palate, moderate life, and at 8.5% ABV extremely approachable. 4.5

    Overall this is excellent, I love what this brewery has been doing and you can find it fresh on the shelf often. 4.5
