Review 8400. Sherry Barrel Dark Lord. This was amazing. Dense as hell black. Great fluffy head retention/spotty lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, sherry, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, red grape/wine, toasted oak, leather, tobacco, and dark bread/crust; with light notes of vanilla, licorice, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, roast, char bitterness; and sherry, wine, oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and super full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, rich malts; light slickness, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth sipping. Mild increasing warmth of 15%, minimal lingering barrel booze. As expected, did not prefer over the base beer; but the complexity is still amazing. Perfectly balanced between rich malts, fruity yeast, and sherry barrel presence/integration. Just enough hops to balance sweetness. Just a bit more fruity/earthy than the base beer, the barrel complements it perfectly as I expected. 4.35

Next up Lil Beaver Ain't No Fountain. It says hazy pale ale but the brewery lists it as a fruit beer which is spot on. Tons of raspberry and vanilla in this one.

 

Very nice. Obviously it's been in the bottle for almost a year and it's not super funky which adds to the drinkability. You won't be disappointed.

 

Browns' #IPA, brewed in North Hoosick NY. I preferred their 'Riveter' IPA, but this is good.

Been down and out recently.
Haven't been able to post or participate as much lately. Some times just not in the mood really. Wife has been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Doctors say she'll be as good as new after treatment and eventual surgery. We have a pretty good outlook as of today. Soo a few of these will help more than hurt this afternoon.
