Cans of the Brickstone/Phase 3 collab Phas'd are at Binny's Grand. Six 12oz cans for $15.99. On the new release endcap in the back of the store.

Do you want some Orange? I have three cans left I'm not too interested in.

Suburban. They’ll eat you, but you better believe they’re getting a skinny latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon first.

Gotta save calories somehow after eating all the suburbanites' lap "dogs."

I'm trying to decide if I like Orange Chantilly or not. Better as it warms, but I'm getting an almost chalky like feel. The Flintstones vitamin description someone gave it is accurate.

Low Ceiling Fuhx. Orange Chantilly was very well integrated, vanilla didn’t try competing with the hops.

Low Ceilings is pretty solid; it tastes like Squeezit-lite to me. And since Corridor refuses to distribute, I'll be happy if P3 keeps this up.

I did the BOM vs OC showdown tonight and was surprised by results. BOM was a more pale orange poured with little head. OC was much more carbed and poured with a 1/4 inch of head and a bright orange color like a clementine. Blazed had more hop character than the earliest versions of it and the sweetness has been dialed back. The dreamsicle flavors of the original super sweet batch have been calmed down. Orange Chantilly had massive orange aromas and flavors to match. Doing a side by side, the vanilla for both oddly went to the background due to comparison and it really came down more to the hops and orange. OC had a fuller mouthfeel though it is also the higher ABV beer.

In the end, I narrowly but clearly preferred Orange Chantilly. The biggest takeaway was that drinking either individually I would’ve thought the tastes were very similar. Head to head brought out the significant contrasts even if the overall quality is close between them

Great review. Did you finish then both? I need one full pint of orange vanilla milkshake IPA about once per year maximum.

    OC is 7.2%
    BOM is 7.5%

OC reminded me also of earlier versions of BOM. Unbalanced and really sweet. Thought the last couple batches of BOM was what they intended the beer to be, way more balanced. I’m sure OC will get there but in the meantime it’s no BOM killer. Still good tho.
Liked Low Ceilings also but thought DG was the better beer with the same hops. And that surprised me cause I was not a fan of the last batch of DG.

Great correction! I don’t know why I had 6.5% in my head but I was wrong. So all credit to Phase 3 for having fuller flavors at a lower abv. (Aside: I assume 7.5% on every HB beer is an approximation rather than specific fact). Somehow the sweetness of both wasn’t too much for me. Numerous Different Things may be a different situation...

first beers sampled over the weekend.

Low Ceilings is mighty tasty. flavor, mouthfeel, and finish are there, and I'd gladly buy this the next go around. Not in the category of truck chasing quite yet though.

Orange Chantilly was a big miss for me. Not as milkshakey as what I've come to expect in the style, and it had an artificial, powdery tang finish that killed any hope of enjoyment.

Felt the same about OC. Just off tasting, especially after having Blazed Orange Milkshake.
