I'm kicking a dead horse at this point, but I'd love to see each wristband guarantee a flight of 4-5 2 or 3oz pours of variants. I mean most people are sharing these pours at this point to be nice so are people really going to miss the larger pours?

Everyone's barrels are different. I don't see it as misleading, as they spec or make the barrels to their liking for the spirit. You technically shouldn't be leaving any trace of bourbon or whiskey in a barrel when using it for aging beer, so in theory the barrel would impart most of its flavor when used first, than second or third.

Share is great, but if I have the ability to drink some of the variants on tap, hell yeah i'm in.

When I took a tour at FFF last year approximately 2-3 weeks before DLD ‘18, I talked with the tour guide extensively related to Dark Lord. It is indeed aged a full year, because this years DL variants (for 2019) were already sitting in barrels according to him. They let the beer sit in the barrels for as long as possible before emptying them (just a couple weeks before DLD).

This is so exciting! @eppie82, which of your friends should I get to chug his variant?

Also, I set up a gofundme page to hire some “entertainers” dressed as GWAR, wolves, sharks, and security guards to come up and give you a true bachelor party experience. Get excited!

I love the taps. I honestly don't chase anything at Dark Lord Day because at any given time at any given station, there is usually something awesome on. It may not be Handjee, but there is always something VERY good (Permanent Funeral for example) or unique (Zombie v. Unicorn for example).

I will be your target since I will be confiscating their variants immediately. The plan is to do a variant share during my wedding weekend 3 weeks later.

Another question on rules of entry regarding backpacks: I plan on bringing an empty backpack to store my DL bottles upon pick up and a soft tote cooler (Mariano's bag) to bring all my own bottles - is that ok or do they throw a fit over that?

Can i bring in an empty growler to cuvee all of the variants throughout the day to create the ultimate cuvee of death by mid-afternoon?

While rare to see good whiskey aged 3-4 years, they do exist. Willet does some nice stuff: https://whiskeyreviewer.com/2017/11/willett-family-estate-3-year-old-rye-whiskey-review-110117/

Rye ages much faster than bourbon does. Agreed that the willet family estate ryes are fantastic though.

SHOUTOUT to @Luscious_Malfoy for adding the new variants, updating current and past DL variants with vintage years, and updating notes for any previous vintages that are same treatment as this years'. Keeping it straight!
