Enjoying a Barrel Aged Quad on this rainy day. Dark beer weather in May? Phooey. *puts on hood*

Thanks to @superspak for this 2017 treat from a couple boxes back Hitting da spot.

 

That looks tasty, almost looks like a tequila sunrise.

 

From @GreenBayBA. This was awesome. Great rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, 7.3%. Awesome Citra/Summer profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Was expecting it to be softer for a "juicy pale ale", but still really impressive. 4.13

Agree with you about all things being circumstances related. I will say that in general, I expect smaller head from a draft at a bar because of the possibility of the perception of a short pour. The boss pour (as I understand the term) would be the extreme of this. It is one of the reasons I always indicate the serving type in my review (also date/age, if available).

Related note: when I think of it, I will check the “revival factor” of a beer’s foam with a swirl. I don’t think of it too often (circumstances and all)

Made my wife and I dinner and now she's making chocolate chip cookies. Life is good.

 

Wife had to get her hair done, so I left work early to get the kids from school and start dinner. Time for beer while it cooks.
