    Any Velvet still left?

I know there was “some” at open. May try and coerce my buddy to run up and nab some for me for some NE hops.

So I'm guessing this will be total chaos? As luck has it, I will be taking a road trip across the mid-west, with St. Louis being my first city and my flight landing at 10:00 am on Saturday. Having never attended a Side Project release but as someone who understands they produce the most sought after stouts on the planet, will I be ok if I go directly to the brewery after my flight lands?

I am curious to know what an on-site consumption for two days only "release" is like. Especially when it's a 750ml bottle that can and will be shared.

Also, have they done it this way before, and if they have, did they silently put the bottle back on the cellar list later in the year?

D9 is probably the best point of comparison - can't chime into what the actual on-site release weekend was like but was basically available only for the weekend / maybe some during the following week. That one was announced almost two full weeks in advance (blog post July 23rd, on site starting Aug 4th)

Since then it has shown up sporadically for special events (stout week, cellar / brewery anniversary).

Its onsite only, so if you go after you land, you should be fine getting a bottle to drink on premise on Saturday. If you are arriving closer to 1 than Noon, id go to the cellar as the line should be smaller there since most will go to brewery first since it opens an hour earlier.

I think they've pretty much done on-site only since D5. The initial releases didn't last very long, but as time has gone on and batches gotten bigger(I'm assuming the batches are bigger of course), the length of availability has also increased.

Yeah, but it's on-site only, but also only for two days. That seems radically different, no? I mean at least D10 has stuck around for a good long while anyway...

The social media announcement does use some confusing language, but I’d be a bit surprised if it’s only available this weekend. I feel like they’re attempting to facilitate visitors for Saturday and Sunday but that future bottles will be available for on-site consumption. I’m guessing. Someone like @Heisenbrew would know better.

I don’t recall how long other Derivations have stuck around. D10 was really, really good. Nuance and finesse.

D10 has been on site for like 8 months now. D9 was on site that weekend only, with sporadic appearances here and there. Same for D8. D7 was around for a few weeks, while Apple Brandy was around for months.

I would wager that D11 is going to be more like D8 & 9, but there's no telling.
