Happy 5th Anniversary to @craftdeviantrob and all the other Locals! I’m toasting with my Day 00 bottle from @azuelke. It’s basicallt past my bed time, but I coach soccer and just got home from practice.

Tons of boozy barrel character with no noticeable adjuncts. The navy blue birds foot cap gave away the brewery. It’s pretty viscous, but not quite thiccc enough to be Black Gold. I’m guessing it’s XX or XXI since it’s still just a touch hot, but I’m never disappointed with Central Waters stouts and this is no exception.

Friendly reminder to save all bottles for the killshot.

I hope y’all got your guesses in.

And if you guessed Central Waters XXI, you win a whole pile of meaningless points. Cheers @azuelke. CW comes through with a stellar barrel-aged stout once again!

Well if that didn't work out better than planned. I didn't even realize I wrapped you an anniversary beer for the Locals anniversary, I was just going with XXI for the 21st :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

PS: Box 2 should land on Thursday, sorry again for delay(s) :disappointed

    Dear target,

Looks like it's going arrive on time - albeit late for the extras:confused:

Hint #8 - will be shipping you some other stuff soon - will definitely make amends for my tardiness...

    Day 1 from @robgage

Similar profile to the bourbon Irish red that I reallllly liked as an extra. Green waxed Voodoo bottle. I remember there was a maple variant of that when I checked it in and what I originally thought was some sweeter quad esters I’m fairly convinced is maple.

Either way - one hell of a start. Thanks Rob![IMG]

I went with bottle A- the non-fruited sour. Busted out the Locals glassware for our 5th anniversary. As soon as I poured it out, you could smell the funk. Taste follows funky with some aged hops. Really tasty. Has a yellow 3F cage, so can’t be A&G, so I’m Gonna guess Golden Blend.

Nailed it.. 3F - Golden blend. Thanks Jeff. New tick for me. Funny I was telling Jeff I had planned to re-arrange my cellar and get my few lambic bottles on their side. And I got to drink some Lambic while I did it. Thanks again Jeff. Great start !! And happy anniversary Locals !!!

@UcDru and a few buddies came over last night for some beers and we drank this delicious extra from @vitaminvert. I have been wanting to try this beer ever since I heard of it. WW does such a great job with their beers, and this was no exception. Lots of vanilla on the nose. Tasted just like a roasted marshmallow with a hint of peanut butter. Fluffernutter had a great body and slick mouthfeel. Yum. Cheers Andrew! Can't wait for the 6 days to start later this afternoon!

Day 1 opened late last night!!!

    tape on cap... no clue.

Pours a deep black hue. smells stouty. Tastes stouty. Medium to thick bodied, my favorite. Don't think this i barrel aged. Any adjuncts? Maybe a little coffee? Not sure. No clue what this is or might be. But I'd guess it's a Grimm or OH stout based on the location of my sender and the 500 mL ( I think) bottle.. but who the hell knows. Lets head to the reveal!

Can't say I got much coconut, but I do think the vanilla is there as it warmed up. This was right up my alley! Thanks @Mikexw

Day 1 courtesy of @NJB145. Red wax. Definitely bourbon barrel aged. Nice dark roasted malts. I get coffee notes but I don’t think it’s a coffee stout.
Arclight Berrien County Stout. I really enjoyed their sours, and this is evidence they can do BA stouts well, too. Great way to kick off this round. Thanks, @NJB145!

Thick with low carb. Lots of chocolate and a touch of coconut... I'm thinking it's something from CBC.

I was somewhat close... Thanks @kayakandbeer!

Day 1 of the Spring 6er courtesy of @vitaminvert poured a nice golden color and immediately smelled of barnyard funk with some lemon and oak notes as well.

I was pretty sure this was a Casey because of where Andrew is from, but also because of of the funk on the nose and the tang on the tongue that I am familiar with. It was a little more tart than the FB DH Mosaic and Moteka I had the other night. I wasn't getting any fruit other than a little lemon on the nose. I did my very best to guess what it was, but the best I could come up with was Casey Saison. Boy was I wrong. I am drinking Funky Blender B-Side, a farmhouse ale aged in oak barrels blended by Emily and Troy Casey in a competition to see who is the better blender. All I have to say, is this is one tasty way to start the Spring 6er.

Below is a pic of my last pour with all the goodies at the bottom. With the goodies and the beer being a little warmer, I got notes of apricot more so than lemon, which was a pleasant surprise. #teamstonefruit

    Cheers Andrew!!!

Cheers buddy! Wish I had an A-side to send you for comparison. B-side was Troy--I saw you had FB on your wish list, and this was the only unfruited FB I had left. Cheers!!
