@mervmurry Oh, and a tip on Casey I learned from long hours at the tasting room: hard pours. That helps the goodies get spread throughout all the glasses and not just the last pour.

Like...when John at the tasting room is pour 4 glasses from a bottle, he lines them all up, and literally upends the bottle vertically over the first glass, gives it about 1/6 bottle. Repeats with the rest, then goes back and finishes each one up to spread the food. Never seen an overcarbbed Casey, but it would make me nervous as hell with a Degarde or SP... :astonished:

    Day 1 from @Sassyshe888

I’m immediately greeted by a Bottle Logic bottle cap which brings much excitement. The nose has a distinct berry aroma to it. The flavor brings a chocolate covered berry flavor. I’m not sure exactly what berry I’m getting from this. I’m also not that knowledgeable of Bottle Logic beers, but I’m going to guess that it is Jam The Radar (which is the only BL fruited stout that I know of).

Bottle Logic Jam The Radar (2019)! Such an awesome start to the Spring 6er!! Thanks Sheila! Already looking forward to Day 2.

Day 1 - Ruby red waxed bottle with a Weldwerks logo stamped on the top.

Pours dark as hell. Smells boozy. Dark Fruit all over the place. Bourbon maybe? Maybe something else? It’s tasty. Gave my wife a taste and she hated it. Makes me think Old ale or Barleywine, since she hates those styles. A little research tells me Weldwerks hasn’t bottled any Old Ales. They did bottle a BA Barleywine recently, and it did have Red Wax, so maybe? It feels thicker than a BW, though. I’m gonna guess Bourbon Brandy Medianoche since it feels like more than just bourbon barrels at play here.

    The reveal:

Nailed it! Thanks @Kramerbarthomer. This is great. Still kicking myself for not trying any of the Medianoche variants they had on when I visited Greeley last summer. Great start to the 6 days!

Dipped into Day 1 tonight on the patio with my neighbor. Bright red color and decent head retention, aroma bursts of red raspberries, and the Funk Factory cork all say this must be which ever of the Fram- beers that is red raspberries.

Thanks @azuelke ! This was really delicious!

So my day 1 beer from @tsgooch79 got opened pretty late (I volunteer tutor HS math on Wednesday nights, and while I could probably handle algebra after drinking it's a good thing I waited since tonight was pre-calc).

The funny thing is that this was randomly the first bottle I pulled this out of the box Travis sent me, and I didn't realize it was wrapping paper and kept rotating the bottle looking for more info. But his note clarified that Donut wrapping paper was for days 1 and 4. I already knew this was barrel aged -- opening, smelling, and tasting made that pretty obvious, plus... a shitton of maple. I meaIn overwhelming -- enough that I could have easily overlooked the barrel.

While I am way behind a lot of you on my beer tasting expertise, I'm pretty good at research... but maple-barrel searches didn't give me any Kentucky or Tennessee hits. So I'm pretty much clueless -- I've been lucky enought to get lots of Kentucky goodies from @Corriecrafts , @edhizeid , @PassMeAZima , but nothing that reminds me of this. So as much as I hate to do so, I give up

And the reveal ends up being [IMG]

Country Boy Brewing - French Toast Barreled Wooley Swamp. Which a) has to be the most Kentucky beer name ever -- "Country Boy", "Swamp", and "Wooley" spelled weirdly, and b) if I was smart enough to recognize French Toast (which I should have) and searched for that I would have nailed this one. Because now that it's been pointed out to me, it tastes EXACTLY like French Toast.

But anyway -- thanks a ton Travis -- I love new delicious ticks. I figure between an early assumption that day 4 is this same brewery, and the fact that tomorrow and day 5 I have my new glass as a hint, I can still pull off at least a 50% guess accuracy rate this round.

That will still give you a higher win percentage than the Mets and Jets combined this year...

Day 1: not many beers i know come in this shape so i had to guess a GI BCBS. I am going with Reserve but not sure which year. Has a sweet whiskey barrel to the nose. It’s tasty and almost has a nutty aftertaste. I absolutely love this first day beer.

The reveal! It was a 2018 Reserve with Elijah Craig barrel. This was fantastic and was pleasantly surprised. Thank you so much @KyleDavis and looking forward to the next few days!

Day 1 - Decided to go with Beer F, and according to @core42 sheet, it’s a 6.7% fruited sour.
It’s definitely some type of stone fruit. Goes down incredibly smooth. Really great beer. Speciation Cork gives away the brewery, but I’m not familiar enough with their beers to guess which beer it is. The more I drink, the more I’m leaning towards Apricot than peach or Nectarine.
Speciation - Incipient. Wishlist brewery !! I got the apricot right. But it also has peaches and is aged in red wine barrels. This is absolutely fantastic. After the beer warms up the red wine barrel really starts to pop. Soo smooth, This is probably my 3rd Speciation bottle, and none of their beers have been overly acidic. Thanks so much Jeff !!!

I was given a "choose your own adventure" from @PassMeAZima with the only hints being sour or stout, and after already having a couple two three beers in me already, I figured I would just go with the smallest bottle.

As soon as I saw the Bottle Logic cap, I knew I had made a big mistake! A nice thick, sweet stout with a ton of fruit that came through immediately. I'm not sure why I settled on JTR, but that's what my drunk ass was telling me. As soon as I unwrapped the bottle, all I could taste was the blueberry.

I'm usually not a fan of fruits in stouts, but this was delicious! I'm sure the loads of marshmallow that came through probably helped it along as well. Thanks for a great start Jason!

Hot damn pic uploaded! @UcDru Day 1 and the joy of seeing that green cap on the cork and cage gives me a little movement down below. I know this one as soon as I take the first taste Armand & Gaston from 3 Fonteinen and it is delicious. I shared a glass with my neighbor since he never had a lambic before and he was blown away. Didn't have the heart to tell him what one these bottles cost. Finished off the night with the 15 yr Knob Creek that came along for the ride. What a way to start this round Can't wait for day 2!
    Cheers!

My day 1 from @mervmurry was a great way to get started. First I got a nice hazy IPA, this was one of the better Vic secret beers i’ve had. Then it was on to some tropical juice. Both were really good!

@tommyguz came out swinging with Day 1 last night!

Bomber, green wax, pours a dark amber with big barrel notes on the nose. Flavor is whiskey, relatively dry, balanced, and caramel notes. Very tasty!

Not sweet enough to be a Quadfather, no detectable adjuncts, gotta be one of the new BA Red's that Voodoo put out. Boom! Delicious my friend! Can't wait for tonight!!
