Andy Staples is a writer for Sports Illustrated.

Scroll down to the end of this column for his beer comments:

Why Florida State Hasn't Been an Overnight Fix for Willie Taggart

(It's a Sports Illustrated column... so, as I said, scroll to the end ... or read about FSU, your choice!)

Another writer who doesn't know the meaning of snob and so misuses it.

Snob: "a person with an exaggerated respect for high social position or wealth who seeks to associate with social superiors and dislikes people or activities regarded as lower-class."

Some days I'll buy beer in a quantity of one.
I guess that makes me 4x more snobbish than Mr Staples....or would it be 1/4?

I found it rather tongue in cheek and harmless. I loved his description of his first taste of Boulevard BBQ, I still remember mine the same way. Kinda laughed he brought up Dundee, I used to dig Honey Brown back in the day.

Reminds me of the Big Bank Theory episode where Penny said to Sheldon: "Oh, my God, you’re about to jibber-jabber about jibber-jabber."

    Cheers!

Meanings of words evolve over time as people use them in different ways. Most people reading his article know that he means he buys expensive beer, nothing more.

harder these days to find 6 packs with the huge influx of 16 oz cans in 4 packs.

I agree that there is a rising popularity of the 16 oz. can in 4-packs particularly among the Haze Bros crowd. Fortunately there is still a fair amount of choice in the 6-pack realm and I have been seeing an increasing selection of 15-packs of 12 ounce cans. The 16 x 4 format could 'go away' and I personally would not miss it but I know that there are consumers who prefer this format so...

    Cheers!

What about beers sold in 4 packs by the breweries themselves?

    Also..who cares?

Dundee Honey Brown reminds me of college in the mid-90s (that was pretty good beer for college students and someone's dad worked for them so we used to get a couple cases everytime he went home).

Nice. Definitely brings me back to the mid 90's too. In many ways that doesn't seem very long ago, but in terms of American beer it seems like 100 years

Sorry to disappoint you, but I've never spent lots of money on people who spend lots of money.

Andy’s a great college football writer & I enjoy his food reviews as he travels for his job, especially his BBQ views.

He’s definitely a whiskey guy & always been snarky towards beer.
