cracked mine a few weeks ago, and it was a little off as well. green pepper aroma, and while it tasted alright, it didn't compare to the year old coffee break which i also had recently.

I don’t recall, but it was from their most recent BA Jones Dog release. So yeah, Fall ‘18 sounds right.

I popped at BA End of Days (Fall '17 batch) at DLD and it was so fucking good. So much flavor from the adjucts and not hot at all. Really glad I held onto a bottle. If any of you guys have this, pop it soon. I can't imagine it getting any better.

Just had a Fall 2018 BA Jones Dog based on this thread. For sure smells tart/green appley. Tastes fine for the most part but there is a little bit of extra kick I don't remember. I wouldn't expect it to get any better with time...

For the record, I put my Jones Dog in the fridge a couple weeks ago based off this thread, and popped it - pure liquid bliss.

Gonna try hyper tomorrow and hope for the best.

Had BA coconut jones dog at DLD. Just like my previous bad BA PW bottles, the cap flew off when I opened it, actually hit someone in the face - sorry poor girl in line for Chemtrail. Overall, beer had little coconut flavor and it seemed to be getting sour. This one of the first beers our group opened and we were severely disappointed.

Safe to say that their BA program has had a few hiccups recently.

Poured a Winter 2018 BA Abduction last night......liquid brownie batter!! Nothing to worry about with those at all.

Maybe I'm weird, but I've cracked 4 or 5 Jones Dogs (regular, Hyper and Coconut) since this first came up and I haven't noticed any infection issues. My only "complaint" is I didn't get a ton of Coconut flavor on that one. Maybe because it's been in a wine cellar since release? Anyone that kept it in a fridge having issues?

In the past couple of weeks I've opened Hyper Dog, Cognac Jones Dog, Coconut Jones Dog and Sundae Jones Dog because of some of the comments in this thread. No issues of odd smells, sourness or increased carbonation. I was most worried about Hyper as I've had plenty of green pepper BA coffee stouts but Hyper was just fine. Cognac was tasting stellar, the coconut in Coconut Jones Dog had faded but was quite good and Sundae Jones Dog seemed the same as when I had it shortly after the release---diabetes sweet with light barrel. All my bottles I bought myself at the release and have been in a 50F fridge since release. Also opened a BA Abduction a few weeks ago that blew all the Jones Dog variants away. Like not even close.

No issues here either. I’m going to open my last The Jones Dog (‘17) this evening, and I expect nothing but enjoyment.

Coconut in general is a quick fading adjunct. Typically the sweetness may stay, but coconut specific flavors tend to go away relatively quickly.

Coconut Jones Dog is so fucking good. No issues with my bottle. Coconut has faded a little but it's just so good.

Drinking The Jones Dog (summer ‘17) now. Drinking magnificently right now. As a Friend with Benefits, I’ve had most PW BA stouts. And aside from some being way too hot for my liking, I’ve never had any off flavors, outside of the Murderous they acknowledged. I’m chalking complaints on here up to possibly bad (possibly dirty) bottles.

Well, this is sad. Opened Fall 2018 Heaven Hill barrel The Hyper Dog with friends tonight. Unanimous that this was turned. The smell was brutal - like spoiled milk. The taste was not as bad, but quite tart with some green pepper tossed in for good measure. Not drinkable.

For the record, this bottle was bought at The Dojo - actually an exchange for my infected BA Muderous. Was then stored in a friends refrigerator until I was able to get it from him in early March. Since then it was in my cellar, which although not refrigerated, stays consistently at 60 degrees (+/- 2 degrees depending on the season) and has no sunlight.
