Good day BAs! Hope your (US) holiday weekend is going well! Today's New Breakfast Beer is a cross-post with NBS and is an excellent American Imperial Stout from @jdell15 - thanks Jacob!

    Have a nice Sunday BA.

Prairie pastry stout. This was fantastic. Dense oil pour, great head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, rich malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering hop/roasted dryness, no cloying sweetness. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 11%. Amazing balance of super rich malts, and brownie flavorings; with just enough earthy hops to balance sweetness. Amazing for a dessert stout as expected. Tastes like brownies spot on.

Amazing DIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, cracker, white bread dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Dangerously smooth, not aggressive, mild increasing warmth of 10%. Feels like Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo, and Columbus. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice balancing bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness, very well attenuated for the ABV. Will always grab this when I see it, same with Bodhi.

And it is tasting amazing after 8 years.. Fucking pappy barrels takes it over the top.. Some sexy bourbon with huge caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, and tons of dark fruit.. The way this sticks to the lips gives it this light syrup texture which isnt a bad thing. It actually makes me crave another sip. No one does barrel aging better than goose island imo.. Just phenomenal cheers

Fantastic as usual. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, caramel, bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very smooth, not aggressive, minimal warming 7.5%. Fantastic Nugget, Warrior, Columbus, Simcoe, Palisade profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balancing dark/Munich malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Revisited the review recently, should have done it sooner than I did.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very smooth and creamy/bready/grainy wheat/oat mouthfeel; light sticky hops and acidity. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tart dryness. Amazing soft spot on mouthfeel for the style. Super drinkable for 6.8%. Super juicy/lightly dank hops with awesome balance of strawberry flavorings. Perfect wheat/oat/malt balance, and not overly sweet/heavy for the style. Can't say I prefer it over the base beer. Equally amazing spot on NEIPA. Hope they package some other variations eventually. Base M-43 is my top most purchased beer right now.

Went to bed early last night (actually totally conked on our BnB bed...ahhhh) and now I'm up early drinking some shtuff.

First up from my Wiskyeonsin haul yesterday :

A single of Kentucky Coffee Barrel Cream Ale, I always try to get a single of these Lexington beers as they can be hit or miss.

This one was more of a miss. It's a newer beer so less reviews but I'll tell ya it's basically toffee, almond milk, green pepper, and plant matter. Could be much better. 3.67 out of 5

    Cheers
