Welp, it’s the final day, and I’m sad to see it end (my liver and mental health beg to differ). My last day from @Kramerbarthomer is a good waxed Weldwerks. Research tells me it’s either Rye Barleywine or the recalled/replaced Vanilla Medianoche. My gut is telling me it’s the Barleywine.

Pours cola like. Doesn’t appear very thick. Smells like molasses and toffee and booze. Tasted much the same. Smelled so good this asshole tried to get her some.

Luckily, cats can’t taste sweetness, so she didn’t care for it. That leaves more for me.

Got it right, once again! This is a really nice Barleywine. The rye barrel is not as up front as it was with the Rye Medianoche from day 4 and plays pretty well with the brown sugar sweetness.

Thanks, Mike. This was an incredible 6 days!!

I’ll admit that I was a little sad when I saw you checked that in at DLD, but was hoping that it was a bitch tick and that you would enjoy it on it’s own and not amongst the 50 other beers you had that day.

It’s a sad day... day 6 of the Spring 6er from @vitaminvert. Corked and caged 750 that pourer an light amber color. Barnyard funk, oak and vanilla on the nose. I didn’t detect any fruit. Based on the other beers I’ve had and the ones Andrew has sent me, I figured this was a Casey but I didn’t know which one.

Casey CO Rye Bourbon East Bank! Mixed ferm wilds aren’t typically aged in bourbon barrels, but this works very well. Lots of
whiskey and vanilla on a fairly dry finishing wild ale. A great way to close out the 6er. Thank you Andrew for a great last 6 days of beer!

Day 6 is here. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw the infamous Weldwerks logo stamped on the wax of the bottle. I was pretty excited because I haven’t had a lot of beers from them but everybody raves about them. I could already tell by the color of the wax that it was Peanut Butter Cup Medianoche. The nose was marshmallow and hazelnuts. It was so thick. Left a nice coating on the glass.

This beer is so damn good. Instantly one of my new favorites. Thanks @dannyfayy yiu killed it brother!

On to day 6 -- I went into this expecting something Bottle Logic based on day 3. But.... I think @tsgooch79 went in another direction. [IMG]

because this guy is a sour(ish) saison of some type, and thanks to my paying attention to recent posts, the unique cap style points towards Hill Farmstead. Besides, earlier in this thread my sender said

I only have about 100 wants, I've gotten one (of my top 5) already this round, and I have 3 from HF. One is Ephraim, and this is definltely NOT an IPA. One is Aaron, and I'm pretty sure this isn't a barleywein either. And that leaves Biere de Norma -- which, while I have maybe a 10% confidence factor, is the only possibility left. And lets's get real, if I have to randomly choose a delicious Hill Farmstead some-type-of-farm-style beer we're gonna be here a while. So I will go with that.

    And...

yeah, I nailed it, but am not sure how much credit I should get. @tsgooch79 gave great BIF clues, and sent me great stuff, and made it easy. Thanks a ton for a great 6 days Travis!

    Kill shot coming tomorrow...

And here’s the kill shot (minus the extras). I’ve always had a great time participating in these and I’ve always had great senders. But.... @valrxman really outdid himself with this box. Sure do appreciate it, sir!

Day 5 from @core42 , I had two to choose from. Barleywine or stout. And after taking my oldest to Children’s hospital all evening. I felt like I needed a Barleywine.
This is a toffee bomb. Sticky sweet with some nice barrel characteristics. Really good. Based on wax color I’m going Fremont b3K, but I’m not confident.

Sorry for the blue balls @azuelke . I took my Day 6 bottle to my neighbors house for an impromptu grill out.

It was probably too cold at first because the adjuncts were hiding. I could tell it was a solid barrel-aged stout with a medium body and great barrel presence.

After 20 minutes or so, the flavors started to present themselves. The walnuts and cocoa nibs were very present, while the coconut was lingering in the background. Overall this was a really delicious treat to end with! Thanks for an awesome 6DoS!

Late to post, buy Day 6 of the choose your own adventure wrapped up the entire box from @PassMeAZima wonderfully. I somehow managed to save a 750 Loon as my final day! Light and crisp, with a sharp hit of bitterness and acidity, I knew it wasn't the gueuze. I couldn't put my finger on exactly what fruit I was dealing with until I unwrapped the bottle...

A 2018 Nath, it was fucking rhubarb. And once I knew what it was, that is all I could tatse as it warmed up. Absolutely loved this beer, and I just so happened to have some strawberry rhubarb pie to pair it with for dinner.
