This is what I’m concerned about if I were to pre order online. Except I would be flying up to Monterey from LAX for pick up and flying back same day. So would I get a refund on the order on the spot? Or would I get a you can come back in 2 days to pick up? Maybe they need to rethink their online sales thing?

A little update, I've been emailing their support, and they have been super nice, they actually got back to me and offered to either refund or ship the beers to me overnight. So that's a nice gesture, but what's weird is they don't have an ETA on when the labels might come in. LOL

I love the online pre-order system they have in place, but it kinda defeats the purpose if you run out of labels, or worst, you can't even get it.

Do you really need the labels? Lol

Hah, I actually asked if I can get it without the labels, and they said no.

I was surprised how much better this was out of the can. I had a taster on tap and did not care for it at all. The can I opened over the weekend was smooth and delicious with none of that diesel/booze character.

I got an email with an offer to overnight ship them (I'm not local, just happened to be in town visiting my wife's family). Kinda disappointing but they're making it right so I guess I can't complain.

    The email:

Thank you so much for ordering our beer this past week during our can release. Unfortunately, we packaged more Powerbatch 5000 cans than we had labels for. We have a rush order in for more labels so we will still be able to fulfill your order, but it will be a few days later than anticipated. Once the cans are labelled, we will reach out with your new pick up date. YOU CAN STILL PICK UP THE REST OF YOUR ORDER. There will also be an overnight shipping option for those of you who can’t make it to the taproom. We feel terrible about the situation and we are working hard to get you this delicious beer as soon as possible.

My cans of PB 5000 were pretty good. Great nose and then smooth mouthfeel.

Interesting hop combo. You are going to get booziness at 9.5%, but it was not overwhelming at all. Shared a few at a couple different events. Most enjoyed.

Hopefully FW learns from these early bumps with the online ordering. Just don't want to go back to waiting in any lines. Once they get it dialed in, it should be the standard. Hopefully other will then follow.

    On a side note.....

Alex Tweet had an IG Story this weekend will a bunch of new GALAXY HOPS they just got in.

Also interesting that untappd now has a listing for a NEW beer called "King Galaxy". Described as the same Grain bill as King Citra..... but with Galaxy instead.... https://untappd.com/b/fieldwork-brewing-company-king-galaxy/3233033

Who knows? Maybe more Galaxy Juice? or this new Galaxy beer?

I'd love to see more breweries, Fieldwork included, have stealth releases. No social media, no advance sales, just put a sign up in the middle of the week listing the available cans and let the regulars have first crack at them.

Of course once word gets out...

Yeah, I'll PASS on this. Why go backwards? Do you want me to leave work? Wait in a line? What if I am a regular on Friday or Monday, but not midweek?

Online ordering with a 7 day pickup widow is the way to go once the kinks get worked out.

Middle of the week, weekends, Friday just before last call... I'd love a surprise, without hype, lines, or online server problems.

Ultimately, this would just result in far slower sales / less margin.

Pretty easy kinks to work out by not designating some can for standing-in-line (still don't get why they wanted to try that) and not counting unfinished work-in-progress as inventory ready to sell (or that either).

That would be cool if Bay Area traffic didn’t make it so miserable to get to any of their locations midweek

Broke out a can of Bad Conduct:

This thing was incredibly sweet. Smells like bourbon, maple, and Hershey's syrup. Taste had everything and feel was incredible but oh man this is just at or past what I can handle in sweetness. One hitter.

Just wanted to give credit where it’s due. I was in contact with them over the past couple days and they managed to get my cans to Sacramento for my pickup before I had to fly out. They couldn’t have been more friendly/accommodating and it all worked out for me.

The impact of customer service in the beer and wine industries can't be underestimated. People find out about this kind of stuff and the producer gets a reputation, whether good or bad. This kind of customer service should be recognized and applauded, and rewarded.

Looks like it's going to be Galaxy Sauce this weekend along with some Pulp & Blackberry Parfait, but I guess no pre-ordering . At least the weather forecast looks great for line-standing

Yes, it looks like "IN TAPROOM ONLY" for this next release. Still waiting on which day... Friday or Sat? I am OUT for sure if it is Saturday.

Seems they are taking the time to fix all online issues with their ordering system. Better to invest the time and resources to fix any problems now. Hopefully the Online PRE-ORDER is fixed in a week or so for the next round of cans. So convenient.
