Sitting over at Arch Bridge, drinking a glass of Silver Moon f*cancer ipa. It's an old style, west coast ipa that's quite good.

Love it when my appreciation of a well made ipa happens to coincide with support for a good cause.

Have to share this... Saw one of my favorite bumper stickers on an old vw beetle a few years back. It said simply:

"Fuck U cancer. You messed with the wrong bitch." Still makes me smile.

Now sampling a platter of heater allen lenzbock, the brother, pfriem nectarine and Fonta flora higher form of consequence. This is a group of beers that has stopped me in my tracks. The lenzbock and nectarine are unusually outstanding examples of their particular styles. The brother ipa is always a favorite. The fonta flora is a very nice beer as well, but imho, is simply overmatched by this grouping.

This is another one of those instances when I thank my lucky stars that I live in the NW.

Mrs. vurt and I had a couple Von Ebert Sector 7 IPAs at the Timbers' home opener tonight. While we would've appreciated a better scoreline, it sure was good to be home.

The westbound MAX is packed, but it is taking us toward our next beer.

We had pints of Georgetown's You'll Get Nothing And Like It IPA, since there was no Bodhizafa, and since I am a "Caddyshack" fan.

    It's not bad. But I would've preferred a Bodhi.

Not now, but Notorious and pFriem Pilsner were not surprisingly among my favorites yesterday at FWIBF.

Is the new 3-way out yet? Heading up to PDX in a couple weeks, and would love to grab some.

Just released at the brewery and now filtering out to distro markets (haven’t seen it in Bend yet).

Yes. My understanding is that most places will be receiving their allocation Monday (or sometime later in the week). Should be all over the place in a couple weeks.

Sunriver’s Primavera is perfect for this weather. It’s the Deseo Mexican Lager with a light touch of lime, basil, ginger, and juniper berries.

I don’t consider myself an authority on lagers by any stretch of the imagination, but if pFriem and Heater Allen are the state’s tier 1 producers, I’d put Sunriver in tier 2 with Breakside, Upright, et al.

Act I: Wayfinder Songs of Courtship unfiltered Franconian lager. "Wonderful. Did not disappoint."

Act II: Hair of the Dog Beerweek: A smoked marzen. "A triumph. Brilliant, layered, and perfectly integrated."

Act III: Cascade Honey Ginger Lime. "You knew it was good. But did you know it was this good?"

Am finishing the evening wirh a glass of rum barrel aged Abyss. It's ok, but this beer hasn't aged as well as I hoped and expected it would. Getting a lot of char and licorice, and the mouthfeel is a bit thin. It's ok, but not what I was expecting.

Was passing thru Bham on Sun afternoon, and dropped in to Melvin for a late lunch and flights with a friend.

    - Memorial Day IPA (collab with Draft Picks' Valley Haze IPA infused with fresh raspberries) was unexpectedly refreshing
    - Cloudy 5000
    - Attack of the Killa Kung Fu Wolf
    - Modern Times 'Devil's Teeth' BBA Imp Stout w/Almonds, Vanilla, and Cocoa nibs

Not many people here during our visit, but noted I was one of just two guys and 10ish gals hanging out. All but two of the customers appeared to be 35ish or under. Neither of the bartenders were guys. One of the brew staff (Rob) was working on the pilot unit just off the bar. Interesting customer and staff demographics given the 'big event' everybody was discussing at this time last year.

While slowed down in traffic on I-5 I noticed Farmstrong Brewing in Mt Vernon, so we took the exit and ordered a flight of

    - Cold Beer Pilsner
    - Valley Gold (lager) [not often I order a lager, but sure glad I did. hands-down my favorite brew from this sampler plate at FB]
    - Golden Rod (their take on a Belgian)
    - Secret Harbor Session IPA
    - Pinata Blood Orange dry cider
    - Stackin' Hay IPA
    - Gordon Haze IIPA: Cultivar #3
    - Brahma Barleywine

We'd have stopped at a few other places, but time was limited
