Nice, light, and refreshing.

 

Tasting insane as usual, 3 months old. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with some biscuity, light caramel/toasted malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Sticky/resinous hops, with a fair amount of balancing bready/grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, never astringent. Super vibrant, juicy, and dank on hops; and extremely drinkable. Amazing classic Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial profile. Will always be a top favorite Ohio IPA, along with Columbus and White Rajah. I need to go back to Ohio more often than I do.

Finishing last night’s closer for breakfast this morning - Deschutes’ “Black Mirror”:



A BBA Barleywine. Strong bitter hops travel along with the semi sweet toffee and plum/stone fruit flavors. Bourbon and oak notes are present but not the main feature (2/18/19 bottling). And 13% doesn’t hurt either!

This morning has the DTLA Donut Festival at Union Station and I’m hoping the family gets up so we can go. Cheers and have a great Saturday y’all!

 

Making some potato salad and grilling veggie burgers for lunch.....and drinking this...bought a SN Summer Pak for $26 at Sam's Club this week; great value!

It is a warm and sunny Saturday morning in Texas and I am eating a sandwich for breakfast and drinking 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriekenlambic imported from Belgium, ABV 5.40%. Aged and macerated with a kilogram of hand picked cherries per liter. Lot's of tart and sweet cherries in the flavor, some oak, and hints of other fruits and berries. Moderate tartness. Even though it is for slow sipping considering the rich flavors it is also very thirst quenching in the heat.

Happy Saturday ba. Hitting the big city for some bar/brewery hopping. First stop,

Double Something Citra, from Finback. Crazy good hop juice,

 

Happy Saturday, BAs! This is one of Tired Hands’ anniversary beers. I Was Just Thinking About You, You #2. A no-boil ipa hopped with Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic.

Typical Tired Hands weirdness here. Not sure I would identify this as an ipa if tasted blind...but it’s tasty, whatever it is!

 

This is my last can of this beer. I look forward to next year!

Daura Damm for my wife and I'm having a Repeater Pale Ale from Ratio.

 

Yes was fantastic! Big and boozy, just the way I like my big BBA stouts. I enjoyed Tip Top Cafe just a tad more. All were fantastic.

Try and visit Highland Park in LA. Love that brewery!
