Any experiences here at the brewery? Don't see many recent reviews. Their beers appear solid. Might pass on through this area of CT next week. Is it worth a stopover? Or should I just continue on to NH to Stone face? Thanks!

If sour beers are your thing, you will enjoy a stop. Your results may differ, but I've found their bottled beers turn into balsamic/salad dressing after a modest time in a cellar, but their draft offerings are very good.

I am not sure what else is on your agenda in the area, but I have to put a plug in for Counter Weight and NEBCo, both easy stops off the Merritt Parkway and about 15 minutes from each other.

Thanks man. Can't handle sours. Might have to go right to CW and NEBCo. If I stop in there, I'll look at their draft choices. Thanks again.

Don't sleep on OEC's lagers though. They're excellent.

If you don’t like sour beers then it’s a HARD pass for you on OEC. IMO they make some of the best spontaneously fermented and barrel aged sour beer in the country, but it’s not for everyone. Its is a very strange little niche brewery located in an out of the way town. It’s an amazing place, but from the sound of it you should hit NEBCO and CW (Both world class as well). Those are 3 top tier options!

they've had an ipa or lager or both most times lately. sours def the primary. but far from just sours anymore with that and the stuff they got in the fridge. meads and wine if your party isnt beer peeps too. coffee and bakery are great too if they're open and stocked. that does vary. most of the bottles age well. one of the more unique breweries you'll ever visit if you like 'different' places. the same old scene gets boring and they're def a memorable visit for that factor alone, mixed with world class stuff.
