I was surprised just how potent the added ingredients are even after cellaring. It seems 20x over regular and was a bit overboard for me. There's no "mellowing" this one imo

I agree 100%. 19 was a little underwhelming but we locals are spoiled. BAA usually is pretty cinnamon forward and this year it was light in that category, which is totally fine, but I don't think the rest of its features made up for that. BAA 16 was by far my favorite and it held up well last I drank it. 17 was too much cinnamon but at 1 year was great. Drink the 18's and 19's now I would think. Don't be afraid to chase a 16 or 17 though.

I always thought abraxas was too cinnamon forward. So I'm kind of excited to hear that this years BA is not!

    Thanks for the input everyone!

Don't get it twisted. BAA is MORE cinnamon forward than non BA, no matter which vintage. I've done side by sides. Regular Abraxas seems mild and tame by comparison.

Not just your tastebuds. IMO, the flavors on 19 are quite muted.

And another white label makes a return - I assume it is, but I hope this is a bigger batch than the last time they made it

Great list but I would switch alpha for 4Hands. Not the biggest fan of Rockwell but it's a neat place and I hear the food is great. Don't forget the OG of stl craft, Schlafly.

CBC (craft beer cellar) is a place where you could bring beer to share.

I was unimpressed with this last year. I wasn't expecting a full 6 course meal, but after spending the cash for two people we went out to dinner after. I think it was like 4oz of each beer and a bite of food at each station. Figured they would let you have an extra portion of food if you asked but that was not allowed.

Yeah, it's definitely just bites and not courses as far as food goes. Would absolutely recommend eating before or grabbing food afterwards.

I will say it's one of my favorite STL craft beer week events because they've had a very good on-site list in addition to the included pours. Hopefully that's the case again this year!

Speaks a lot that last year it sold out in 15 minutes but this year it’s still available a day later.

It was fun and one of the better STL Craft Beer Week events, but that’s also not a high bar IMO. I’m passing on it this year and everybody else I went with is too.

For $75 a ticket I think that's a bit ridiculous you'd have to go get dinner somewhere else as well. That's $150 plus anything else I spend on drafts and another $50 to the babysitter... so I'm out at least $250 for a night out? Yagottabekiddinme

I dont even think there were drafts, it was all onsite bottles. Last year it was D9, Oude Fermier, then bottles of the beer they were pouring for your “dinner” pours anyway.

    So that’s another $50
