yep it happened to me at about 49 got worse at about 52, so i gave up booze almost completely. Not sure why booze gives me a hangover and beer usually doesn't. It's odd sometimes it didn't take much booze 3 or 4 shots could be enough.

Some beers will give me a hangover, and it's not just the ABV. Potosi double bock gives me a hangover, I learned one 16oz can a night is the limit, then switch to different beer. Sweet beers/drinks might make the hangover worse.

Maybe your dehydrated from the hot weather?

The key to avoiding this situation is to have a pre-workout drink mixed before bed, drink it upon waking, then perform a brutal leg workout at the gym, while you are in the "feeling great" window of time. Immediately after the gym, have 5 Egg McMuffins, then hydrate with BodyArmor Orange Mango sports drink. This somehow alters your body's ability to not feel awesome. Finish the routine off by mowing the lawn, then watching Netflix, or your favorite sporting event.

Had that once or twice, mostly related to the lack of water, and the occasional mix of what I ate alongside any alcohol. But any liquor mixed with beer leaves me hatin' myself the next day.

Plenty of Pedialyte or Gatorade, a tough workout, and a couple McJawnskis will do the trick for sure.

A perfect day! (Except for the walking and the part about the gym. I'd probably skip them.)

They're called that because they cause double the hangover of a Belgian single.

Dehydration is certainly a bit part of it (and it sounds like @nc41 wasn't drinking much water) but the cause of hang overs is multi-faceted.

Lack of sleep, not eating enough, the length of time you took to consume the drinks, and dehydration all play a part.

Oh and to the OP, yup, this has happened to me plenty of times.

    In two words, it sucks.

I wouldn't say I ever go from good/great to shitty feeling, but I do sometimes wake up foggy in an almost enjoyable way (slow but relaxed) and then feel the more negative effects a bit later. That being said, I only drink to that extent (3+ pints) like once a week.

Switch to good quality vodka. You will forget what hangover is.

A steak egg and cheese bagel with a large Dr Pepper from McDonald's does wonders. That and a bloody mary or four.

Food for thought too, but that's enough alcohol to take at least 8 hours to clear your body depending on the amount of gin (1 US FL OZ = 30ml or a little over half of a sampler bottle) and the ABV of the beers you were drinking (standards are based on a 5% ABV) so anything bigger is going to add time.

    The
I had 2 Enjoy Bys, and I know there’s no way in hell my gin and tonics are only one oz, I’d guess two, but that was from about noon to midnight or so, I don’t think that’s a lot of alcohol for the time, but being at the pool and it was hot and not a drop of anything else to drink yesterday but coffee was probably the culprit. I felt great about 3 and I feeling punky again it’s working on 7. Shrug, don’t really know, just took another Zofran.

I have had this happen, usually its because my sleep is messed up. When I drink I don't sleep great and usually later in the day that off feeling kicks in. I am guessing your just tired and as the day progresses you feel off more.
Toss back a coffee, usually helps me a lot later in day.
    Cheers

I've been curious about this for a long time. I'm 40 now, and that's exactly how it goes. Wake up feeling o.k, maybe a slight headache and dry mouth. Each hour that passes after getting up and moving on with my day gets worse and worse. I hydrate with water, vitamin water or Gatorade and it rarely helps. When I was in my 20's I could drink shwill all night and never a hangover.....except one time when I was 24, I actually had a week long hangover ....never again after that though.
