Session IPA from Amundsen
good hoppy aroma
but the tast is a little poor, you can kind of tast the salt

 

Good day BAs! Starting off without rain, at least for an hour or two. Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Decent inexpensive basic IPA.

 

Very appropriate beer for a rare Monday off. Vacation accrual maximum is 400 hours, I'm at 397 so I'd only get 3 of the monthly 13 hours if I don't lower it, no problem boss. Thanks again @scream!

My last dubbel in the review que...

I didn’t know the "freshest by" date of 9/20/16 was printed in black on a brown bottle above the label. Couldn't read it until the beer was poured anyway. I don't feel like a bottle conditioned beer should have fallen off this much, but there's not much taste to this one at all, even when you ignore the slight oxidation. I would try it again fresh (now that I know how and where to check).

I never had a good moment for New Beer Sunday yesterday and a chance to review this tasty brew.

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 5/30/19. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a half finger sticky white head that leaves plenty of thin waves of lace as it slowly settles with nice retention. 4.25

Smell is melon, pineapple, tangerine, and a little grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows very balanced nothing over the top, pineapple, cantaloupe, mandarin orange, and just a kiss of grapefruit. 4.25

Mouthfeel is bigger than most at only 6.1%, plenty of life not crazy soft but pleasant, a tad dry and slightly sticky, and incredible drinkability. 4.25

Overall this is a brewery I really enjoy and a series of rotating hops I can’t wait to pick up every release. Well done. 4.25
