    It's becoming a regular thing, being awakened at 3 am with scam calls apparently originating from Bermuda...time to block calls from using country codes...may as one start the early, early morning with a stiff one...

    Berliner pilsner at Alexanderplatz Berlin. In the back-ground on the table a local specialty; Curry-wurst. Original recipe dating back to the first post war years when meat (and sauce) was scarce.
    Cloudy, but rather warm around here. Around 30 Celsius / 86 Fahrenheit.

    Today, June 20, is West Virginia Day. The History of West Virginia Wikipedia page makes a valiant effort to explain the history and gets lost in the weeds of the Restored Government of Virginia, the State of Kanawha, and the three Wheeling conventions. Look at it if you are curious. I'm headed up there for a visit next week.

    Stormy night, rainy day, so this . . .

    Clear red gold color with light color cap.

    Clean aroma that's mostly malty with a hint of something darkish and sweet like cherry cola.

    Nice low key flowing malt rich flavor that offers a hint of roasted malt without any bitterness or roast malt elements like coffee. Just a smooth darkness linked to the malt richness.
