pardon my ignorance over here. I am a beer lover but have mostly stuck with what is local to me here in Michigan. As I have traveled around for work I make it a point to drink only local brews and have had some really good ones. This has sparked me to be looking for different beers and favorites from others around the country. And this now brings me to the question of how to trade. I’m searching for Pliny the elder.
Check the $4$ trade forum. There are usually some offering Pliny for NEIPAs, stuff like M43 or Boss Tweed or Transient NEIPAs will get you there. You might have better luck if you can get HOMES or Arvon. If not, try posting a trade yourself. I’ve done $4$ for it twice. Be patient. Remember, trading is expensive.
Never heard of homes brewery before, there stuff looks good. FYI regarding Pliny: it's only in glass 16.9oz bottles. It makes it that much more difficult to ship than cans because of the space and weight and the fact glass breaks easier. I usually trade 2:3/4 bottle per can. Its not worth it for me to do anything less than that. I don't trade much Pliny due to that reason alone but you will usually find other new traders willing to try new things which shouldn't be to hard for you to find. Welcome and good luck with trading. Second that this gets expensive, but it's fun and you get to meet new people and try great beers. Pro tip: always over do it on the shipping when you start out. You will eventually figure what works best but you don't want to make mistakes right out the gate when trading.
HOMES is a newer brewery in Ann Arbor. They are making some pretty good stuff. They are becoming very well regarded for their NEIPAs and sours. Shhhh.
