Having my last can of Low Ceilings right now and it’s the best single serving I’ve had from these guys. Checks all the boxes for me.

Rule of Thirds was a step backwards, IMO. While better than Protocol, it had the same lager-ish aftertaste that I don't find very appealing in an IPA.

Had some low ceilings, energetic mind, and rule of thirds today and for me I enjoyed them all! If this is the local beers weekly along with HBs, then I am set every weekend. Rev Deep Woods for the fall and winter, man I am set year round!

I hear what your saying, but I think it’s the Nelson messing with your head. That other can will be great in a week.

I met Shaun and Evan at Open Bottle fest, super cool guys who are passionate about making best beers possible. Definitely a labor of love. My buddy and I actually chatted with them a few times through out the fest.
Energetic was great maybe my favorite NEIPA at the fest. Shaun did say ROT is on the greener side right now and in a week it'll be a very different beer. The way he described what he thinks how it would turn out sounded amazing (I can't remember all the details because this was at the very beginning of the fest). It was definitely green and had a strong hop bite. I'm glad I got to try it fresh and didn't crack one of my cans.

Always interesting how palates are different. I didn't think it was green at all and loved it out of the gate.

Does anyone else have a feeling there might be something else released with this pils? I feel like Shaun takes the TG approach. As soon as you don’t suspect something special, the hammer drops.

Edit: the sensible side of me knows this is basically free advertising at all the liquor stores with the holiday coming.

In Gurnee for a few days. Looks like The Craft Beer Store in Libertyville is the closest place to get P3? I love Pilsners, so would like to try theirs. Also, if anyone still knows where to get Rule of Thirds by some small miracle, I missed it by a day at Open Bottle. Thanks all!

I’m picky about my pilsners and wasn’t crazy about More’s so let’s talk can design again. Easier to discern on a shelf and much improved, IMO.

That was my main takeaway as well.

I have most of the P3 releases in my fridge (I've drank all of the first set of 2 and I think the second set) - but it reminds me of this discussion that I can't easily tell which is which (and my brain long ago lost the space/ability to differentiate by beer names).

The Craft Beer Store had about 2+ cases left as of 30 minutes ago. People steadily coming in and grabbing it. Cool little shop. Bonus taster of Skrap Metal while I browsed.

Agreed on the new labels. Much better. I got excited at first, then laughed when I saw the Seattle Cider packs. Liked the glass, but passed at $8. And you know what, I like my new coozie. In a world of too many coozies at my house I actually don't have one for 16 oz cans. Will report back on the beer later once I've got it cold again.

This is the first Phase Three beer I have bought and I am impressed. Very crisp, clean pilsner for a price less than most breweries. Obviously this is not something they are going to continually brew, but if they did, I would pick it up often. Well done...

First P3 beer here too. Had the Brickstone Collab one and was not impressed with that one, but it was pushing a month old and warm stacked so hard to really make a call there. Not to mention I don't like lactose in IPAs.

Anywho, the Pils is very enjoyable. Definitely crisp and clean. Slightly bready and a tad sweet. I think I paid $11 plus tax. What does Fader or Premium Pilsner run? Pils seems to drink a little than the other 2, but I'd need to try them side by side, or at least closer in proximity. No clue on the Villa Pils comparison question. It's been a long time since I've had that.

You got charged a hype fee. 9.99

I see most local lagers around here between 9.99 and 11.99.

i'm confused by your first sentence because the pricing is exactly in line with the local market

Okay, so I paid $10.99 plus tax. So that's the median cost of the range you provided?

And while The Open Bottle does seem to occasionally charge $1 more on a handful of things I've bought there over the years, I don't view them as hype mongers with their pricing.

But yeah, the beer was good everyone.
