Not sure why the Triptych thread got locked...

    How about that batch 600!?!?!

Damn fine hops. I would say one of the best triple IPA’s that I have tried. Definitely Trillium / insert your favorite east coast hazy hop beer brewery / top notch quality for sure.

High praise to Triptych for sure!

BA locked most brewery specific threads and looks like the new policy is to start a new one annually. Makes sense with some places that break 100+ pages, not so much with others.

Yep, Batch 600 was pretty great. I'm not a huge TIPA guy, but this was tasty. It's been a solid run over the last few months with Forces Beyond our Control, Exercise in Patience, Always Room for Dessert, and consistently cranking out solid hazey options. Also a big fan of Chip It, On the Green - really light, crisp, and refreshing. I've really liked their lagers and pilsners they've been doing and looking forward to more to come.

Oh, and I'm certain this will be a good time...

Anyone hear if Always room for dessert will make Chicago or burbs distro?

Was there ever a release of AJ's over the last several months? Don't think it happened around the end of the year lie in the past and haven't heard anything since....

Batch 600 was outstanding. They're killing it lately.

Not sure. If you are really wanting some, let me know and I can probably grab you a 4 pack as it looks like it's still to go.

Nope. They did release Exercise in Patience back in late March. To go cans lasted less than 24 hours, but it was on draft for weeks (maybe a month) after the release. DB AJs was pretty quietly released at the tap room back in August as mostly draft, but they did allow 1 crowler per person to go for a short time.

Just a hunch on my end, but wouldn't be surprised if we see some BA goodies for the 6th Anni party in June.

Wake Up Neo is making the rounds in the burbs. It’s always been my favorite hazy from Triptych.

We've only selected retailers that pledge to keep us cold on this delivery trip too. I can have our guy post in here later for where he stopped and when.

Anyone seen cans from this weeks release out in the wild still? These things seemed to have gone quick!

Open Bottle still had Cherry Bomb Tarnt and Waconda as of yesterday afternoon. EDIT - might have Neo too. Could've been in the cooler, but wasn't looking for it. Their Beer Menus says they still have all 3 cans.

Personal note on Re-Remember Camp Waconda. This batch, at least for my tastes, was much improved over the original. ABV got jacked up and mouthfeel is pretty viscous. I really liked how the graham cracker pops. Also, the smokey/roastiness was dialed back quite a bit, which for me is a positive thing.

Their last several stouts have been excellent - Forces Beyond our Control, Exercise In Patience, Always Room for Dessert, and now a reboot on Waconda. Life is good in stout land.

I picked 2 of the 3 up at the open bottle yesterday and can assure you that they def weren’t kept cold. Tarnt and Neo were both sitting on a shelf as of yesterday afternoon

There was no communication from the brewery to keep beers cold

I LOVE Bottles & Cans, and hate tattling on them...but I'm also going to tattle on them.

Not refrigerated at their store when I bought a can of Neo today.

I have seen an email to the store owners talking about the importance of at least refrigerating our hoppy beer, but that was from when we first dropped off last August.

This seems like one of those times that our sales manager wants to make a monkey out of me. I obviously don't know what sort of assurances he got from folks and I don't specifically know that he talked to each place on this specific trip about it. But I do know this: He told me he was only going to places with cold placements, I posted the message above and in retrospect, it sounds like this might not have been 100% accurate.

I also know that on our beer packaging there are three different places that mention my obsession with cold storage, "KEEP COLD", once on the cardboard flat that the case ships in, once on the label of the beer itself where it says "BUY IT COLD, KEEP IT COLD, AND DRINK IT FRESH", and once on the bottom of the can near the usually legible date code that says "KEEP COLD".

Also, for future reports about the beer, not cold, out of code, whatever, please, please PM me.

I don't want to put retailers on blast or have them called out in a public forum. Especially in a case like this where it seems like our expectations were not efficiently communicated in the first place.

If it makes you feel any better, I highly doubt my post will make anyone stop patronizing Bottles & Cans.

They are easily one of the premier bottle shops in Chicago, and their policy on breaking up 4/6 packs has me driving by about 50 liquor stores in the city from my front door to theirs.
