Stillwater Retail. Awesome NEIPA. Fantastic fluffy head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, strawberry, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready, grainy malts; some sticky hops, and slight resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 8%. Awesome Mosaic, Galaxy, Huell Melon, & Mandarina Bavaria profile. Super juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on style example, though not all that hazy. 4.13

Chilling on the couch with my broken ankle. It looks like this is where I'll be spending the majority of my time, seeing as the bedroom is upstairs, and stairs are a natural enemy of crutches. My ass hurts from sitting too long, but I cant stand up, and the crutches hurt my hands....man... This is a drag.
This guy has some incredible comedic timing and delivery. I imagine this bedridden state will land me on the odd side of YouTube here and there.

From the world’s oldest brewery: the look and smell were enjoyable but the taste is heavy - almost oily, this lends itself to a nice full mouthfeel, but I prefer brighter, cleaner, and crisper.
With help from the beer-smart folks here on BA, the date was deciphered to last November! haha, pretty damn good for that age.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale 5.6%. Tasting good and going down smooth. Not sure why I never buy these. It really hits the spot right now.

SO PUMPED for this to be in 4x16 oz cans instead of its crappy bomber format! Need to stock up, as this is one of the best flavored stouts on the market. It's like a baby Dinosmores at a fraction of the price.

I previously reviewed this for NBS, but I went for a full review this time, which you can read here!

Back in Alpena, MI for a few days so that means more visits to Austin Brothers Beer Co. Tonight's brew is Alpeña Colada, kettle sour with pineapple, coconut, and Blood Orange.

Prairie No Limits. No on added it yet. 12/26/18 bottling. This was fantastic. Dense black pour. Solid head retention, minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Very mild roast/char bitterness, and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, chaky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; zero cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping, mild increasing warmth of 13%, zero lingering barrel booze. Fantastic balance of super rich malts and bourbon barrel presence/integreation; with mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. They just don't make any bad stouts ever. 4.25
