I think Dave is probably one of the best frontmen of all time, but I’d rather party with Sammy.

Excellent gose. Fantastic rocky head retention/lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour limes, lemon, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, agave, white bready malts; lighter notes of tequila, oak, peppercorn, vanilla, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, and light oak tannins/salinity in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness, zero pucker. Super flavorful/refreshing, not overly lactic/salty, 4.2%. Not that much tequila barrel, but was already expected for the price. Still has a nice solid/pleasant presence, as to not get overpowering. Awesome balance of limes, Lacto complexity, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Spot on style as expected.

Finishing off a Hanssens Oude Gueuze that has about 7 1/2 years of bottle age. I've also been writing down my thoughts about how this bottle compares with the review I did back in 2011 of a bottle purchased at the same time and from the same lot. (My thoughts on how this evening's bottle compares with that first bottle I reviewed are posted in the Cellar Reviews thread in the Cellaring/Aging Beer Forum if anyone is interested in what I think aging has done to this beer.)

As I suggested ... yeah, one more. Pairing some cheese with a CC Tropicalia to close out the night.

Excellent session NEIPA. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, blueberry, red apple, wood, onion, mint, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, flavorful and not watery for 4.2%. Hop profile is identical to Grunion: Mosaic and Calypso. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering crisp dryness.

Now onto a Steel Bender Cinderella Story Dry Hopped Brett Saison.

My attempts to extend my Seattle trip got thwarted by my AirBnB being rented out for that next day. That allows me to use my money for Taos now. Just saw Yawning Man will be playing a show at Taos Mesa Brewing at the end of August. I am definitely there for that. Booking things now, have to decide for how long.

Amazing batch this year as usual. Fantastic lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, no warmth of 7.6%. Feels like Simcoe, Citra, Galaxy. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a great clean bready pale malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering crisp resin dryness. Got 2 packs already, and would buy more. Just as impressive as it ever was since the beginning.

Not the best of days here. Did something Sat., pulled a muscle most likely in my stomach. Did not notice it until the evening. Yesterday was OK. Today not so much. It is the side I normally sleep on-not tonite and upon waking today I was in trouble.Every breath was an adventure and then compound that w COPD , panting etc. Pretty nasty. Marginally better tonight.

Finished up my Voodoo Ranger and now enjoying a Waldos ! - Cheers !

Drove straight from California to Colorado yesterday to help the in-laws settle in their new place. Trying to find brews that I feel the whole family would like, and these seem to be winners.
