There's always some variation of bottles with BL, that's for sure. I envy you!

 

For sure, always keeps me wary of their stuff though.

BV was a great beer before the infection took hold. I’d be interested in a non-infected B2.

 

It really was. I was lucky enough that only 1 of 4 bottles was off.

Unpopular opinion - but I really enjoyed FO18. I loved the carb and the balance of barrel and vanilla. It didn't smack you in the face with vanilla like FO17, but I can solo a bottle and not feel like complete garbage.

I’ve enjoyed every version of FO - a lot - including the most recent stuff. Perhaps more “balance” or more barrel than vanilla on recent iterations, but they’ve all been really well done. Was able to head to CA last year and loaded up, but this year I’ll be scanning the trade market in hopes that people looking for a vanilla bomb are disappointed.

 

And by that, you mean hopefully it’s rarer this year?

I kid, but I rather enjoyed FO18. Plenty of vanilla for my palate.

 

I'd imagine that given the recent post about Number Crunch making a return, that there may not be quite as many bottles of straight FO this year... although I believe they did also increase brewing capacity over the last year, so maybe there will just be a plethora of both.

 

I liked bastion, I think the roasted peanuts leaded to a much drier stout.

Dialects on tap was a little hot, but I figure bottles are milder. Prob nice to share with non-beer drinker family members.

 

While saying I love 2018 FO
I also say I was underwhelmed by the vanilla - let me repeat, I love the 2018.

However, FO, while always delicious, is defined by vanilla. My reaction to my first sip of an earlier batch was Whoa this is too much vanilla, I was wrong.

Are we thinking FO is next release with possibly NC? Have a buddy wanting to visit, so I'm hoping we know soon the release dates and FO day. I think it was later last year (in august), and there's been hints it's coming soon in July.
