I am sure this is a stretch but going to be in NYC/TS for work in August. Wondering if there is anything near by Times Square brewery or bottle shop wise that would be worth my time.

I know NYC is a pain to get around in and I wont have much time to get away from my work responsibilities so was hoping something would be within a 15 min cab/Uber ride.

    Thanks in advance!

    Bread and Honey, 8th Ave
    Clinton Gourmet, 10th Ave
    Milk and Hops, Chelsea

should all either be walkable or a short ride away. If you're looking for anything in particular, they all seem to keep their BeerMenus pages up to date. Good luck, and hope you have a great trip! (outside of work )

I recommend two beer bars, both with many taps and beer worth drinking. I believe that they are under common ownership, and both are very close to Times Square:

Beer Authority NYC (300 West 40th Street)
Rattle n' Hum West (306 West 39th Street)

Also, there is a brewpub of possible interest:

Heartland Brewery and Chophouse (127 West 43rd Street)

For bars - As Is or Haymaker.

Haymaker sometimes has take away by the can that's quite good, but pricey. As is NYC has a slightly better draft selection usually (by my highly subjective measure) but has higher prices for drafts, if that matters. I recommend checking their untappd or beermenus app and seeing what appeals to you more.

Agree on haymaker and as is as the two best bar options... district tap house more central times square/theater district also usually has a very big tap list

And for bottle shops, @TongoRad has it right with Milk and Hops on 9th.

And they have a bar, too, so maybe best overall option.

Haymaker is the best bet if you also want food, burger is a thing of beauty (only ever had it while drinking extensively, so don't get at me people).

District Tap House on W. 38th Street usually has a solid tap list

Another vote for Haymaker if you're hitting bars. Definitely expensive but always an amazing tap list and tons of (also expensive) to-go can options.

Also check out Ginger Man (36th/5th Ave). Huge tap list. Gets pretty crowded around happy hour but you can find quieter times after the initial rush from 4-6.

Yea and some good cheese and pretzels.

Also Jun Men ramen across the street has some spicy and delicious Kimchi ramen.

Agree with Ginger Man. One of the first beer bars I really hit up in the city with an extensive list. Go early though, it gets crowded.

Clinton Gourmet and Bread and Honey are decent spots for to-go cans/bottles in that area.

Beer Culture is the best really close to times square bar. They also have beer to go.

+1 to As Is though if you're willing to go a few blocks further. Near As is, @neff_nyc has great can/bottle recs, though between the two I think Clinton Gourmet will have a bit more.

Getting around in NYC isn't so bad because there is likely already so much near where you're going to be!

Clinton Gourmet has the best prices for midtown Manhattan.

Aside from what’s already mentioned, you could try for one of Patrick’s places: The Jeffrey

Will also suggest Bondurants, but that might be a bit of a stretch
