Looking for an amputation-themed beer

If you're a wine drinker Dunham Cellars makes a red blend called Three Legged Red. It's a story about the owner and his 3 legged pooch. The dog is even on the label.

 

That has unfortunately happened here on our trails (Colorado Springs), kids (one would hope) putting fish or metal line across bike and running trails and people have been seriously injured.
Stupidity and assholeness, to the 10th power. Good luck with the surgery - you have some great suggestions above and glad you're taking it with the right sense of humor and attitude...

This absolutely terrifies me. I just broke my ankle a few days ago, and the doctors are really perplexed and kind of clueless about the healing process. From your personal experience, do,you have any advice to give someone who is not entirely keen on the idea of parting with a limb? I admire your acceptance of the situation. I know I would not handle that as well as you are. I wish you all the best.

OK my man. I have no prosthetic themed beers but I'm a prosthetist so of course I'm chiming in from that angle. My avatar is a prosthesis we made for one of our patients and we laminated/integrated a bottle opener into the socket so he could open beers with his leg. We did it on his 2nd prosthesis because new amputees normally can't wear their first prosthesis for more than 2-6 months before it becomes too big. It turned out pretty cool. You'd just have to enlarge the image of my avatar to see it more closely. If you need any advice please do hit me up. I'm assuming you will be amputated below the knee. Just make sure the surgeon doesn't make the residual limb too short...it happens more than you'd think (at least in my neck of the woods it does). You may want to ask them what they plan for the final length to be well before the surgery. You may also want to meet a prosthetist in your area to do a consult with for pre surgical advice. PM me if you'd like because I have much more to share with you but don't wanna bore everyone here or offer info here that you may not be seeking.

 

Perhaps the newly rereleased collaboration Sierra Nevada/Dogfish Head Life & Limb would be a possibility.
