Fresh label approval. This will definitely be better than the base beer.

I mean that's cool and all, but I'd rather have normal black note. Though at least I should see this one, never had distribution issues with Bells.

That base with intentional vanilla is going to be amazing

I'm going to guess that this is out of my price range.

I smell a taproom only release.

IME every time these show up, the beer comes out 3 months later, at least for the Dragons Milk Reserves. Fall is a good bet. Probably October. Looking forward to the press release, and I will add it to the OP when it does.

That's been more of a Founders thing.

Hmm ... sounds pretty interesting. I haven't been able to gain an appreciation for Black Note over the years but I certainly respect Bell's and will definitely give this a try.

This sounds amazing. Black Note is already great, and vanilla is perfect for imperial stouts.

Though I'm not a Black Note fan due to the bitterness, I'll gladly give this a try.

I wouldn't be sure about that. A couple of years ago when the regular last came out, a guy at the grocery store saved a couple for me. I told him thanks but I'll only take one; but when I saw how inexpensive it was I said I'd take the other, which is currently aging in the cellar.

I forget how much it was exactly but I thought it was an excellent value.

Depends entirely on your store of choice, I only paid 24 a 4 pack for regular black note, which at $6 per bottle isn't bad for a really nice BA beer.

I think that's why the vanilla will work so well with this one, I personally like a bitter/char bite on big BA stouts and always appreciated that in Black Note so I'm thinking that the vanilla is a great choice to soften some of the sharp edges on this one (I might personally find the base beer better but I know a lot of folks will be happy with the addition)

expedition stout(one of the base beers to black note) is the only beer i would ever recommend anyone ageing because of the insane high level of hopping that beer gets. it gets so so good at year 5

If sweeter and creamier is what you are after. I think Black Note is great. I’ll definitely try to get this one, but I’m not sure that it will be better. Different but not necessarily better.
