I have a conference next weekend in Columbus, OH and I was curious if there's any seasonal/speciality releases or growlers I should grab while I'm in the area.

I'm already planning to go to Hoof Hearted, Seventh Son and Columbus Brewing Company. Is there anything I'm missing?

Not really partial to a beer style so any style suggestion appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hoof IPAs some “sours”.
    Pretentious (real) sours.
    Wolfs ridge stouts, (real) sours.
Those are the best on the brewery front.

Where are you staying, we can direct you to best beer stores in your area. Don’t have any specific must try beer recommendation. I’d skip seventh son myself, and I don’t think Columbus brewing taproom is open yet. You can find bodhi in bottles around town. It’s tasting pretty boozy to my pallet these days though, I preferred old school recipe.

Had not been to Wolf's Ridge or Pretentious before, those look great. Good suggestions!

That's a bummer about Bodhi, I've liked it alot the last times I've been through the area.

Wolf's Ridge is best in Cbus, IMO.

Like pest said, which part of town are you staying in? It would help us to give you more localized suggestions, or are you willing to drive all over Columbus? For example, it's really not convenient to go to both Zaftig and Combustion in the same day since they're on the opposite sides of town from each other. But yeah, you'll probably like both Wolf's Ridge and Pretentious if you go to both places.

Just got back today, we'd never had anything but the late night menu at Hoof Hearted. Their regular dining hours menu is fire. The beers we had were delicious as well.

Stopped at Wolf's Ridge, the atmosphere was chill, the bartender was friendly and I'm really digging the label art.

Stopped at Pretentious, the sours we're good, the staff was not friendly.

For folks who enjoy a good distillery, I would recommend Watershed. I went there based on a suggestion from a local, I had good cocktails and brought back a few bottles for the home bar.
