Visiting NYC - Times Square

Bondurants and the Jeffrey are great, but not incredibly close to Times Square. At that point might as well open up suggestions for downtown and the UWS as well.

 

Good suggestions here, all. I'd like to add: do not go to Heartland Brewery.

 

Hit Haymaker - you can probably call and ask what they have for carry out before showing up. I got some Other Half 4 packs for $20 out the door there last time I went through

 

Jeffrey might make that 15 minute mark as noted above. Bondurants certainly wouldn't, but its up there amongst the best in the City, so threw it in

 

I live right by Bondurants (and hence often live at Bondurants) and used to work at Bryant Park. Assuming the trains are running OK, door to door takes about 15 minutes on the dot. I actually found Bondurants is a few mins closer than The Jeffrey via public transit since it's right by the train.

 

Getting there from Times Square is really easy with the Q, but getting almost anywhere in Manhattan is easy from Times Square. But I'd definitely agree that if OP ends up anywhere near the UES, those are spots to check out.

Now that I think about it you could do a pretty good UES bar crawl with City Hops, The Jeffrey, Milk & Hops, Workshop, Pony Bar, Bondurants, and City Swiggers.

Or the Times Square Brewery.
