I haven't had it since the one bottle with friends, but it was tasting delicious. Liked it better than Theorem and the Observations that were there.

Ancient Teal Dragon was such a great name, it almost felt that at some point everyone was just ignoring it.

Anyone scope out the Epicurean1 menu?

I wonder if the Epicurean food truck that already exists will have something to say about this? At least BL added a 1 to differentiate lol.

Although I will say that seems like a smart idea. Probably a lot easier to get a "separate" food truck going than brewpub and adding a kitchen to their limited space that is being contained by the seemingly endless local bureaucracy.

From what a buddy told me when he talked to the guys at TAPS in Tustin, it saves a whole lotta hassle with permits/regulations/etcc. And likely cheaper.

The truck is intriguing but I think deep down we all actually want a place to sit and enjoy some good beers. Current state of affairs is pretty nefarious.

So with that said, what’s the latest with the restaurant/expansion situation?

Menu is supposed to change on a monthly basis, and they'll be the on-site food truck a couple of times per week. The present menu is the "Smash Burger" menu, with ham/cheesburgers, Beyond Meat patties and vegan cheese for vegetarians/vegans, and mint soft-serve ice cream with toppings.

The burgers and fries were excellent IMHO, and the wife really liked her Beyond Burger. I can't recall the prices exactly, but I think it was around $6 for a cheeseburger and around $10 for the burger/fries combo. There were two different prices for the soft-serve, one for plain and one for with toppings.

$10 is a pretty sweet deal.

This sounds awesome. So many times I've been to BL with a food truck that doesn't have vegetarian options. And a $10 Beyond Burger with fries is a good deal.

Now if they would just lower their crowler prices on NE DIPAs to a reasonable level I'd be super happy. $23 for 32oz comes out to almost $12 per can of beer, which is double what Monkish charges for not double the quality.

Just drive down the road to Green Cheek. I'm not really a fan of any BL IPA's west coast or NE.

I think It's $10 for the regular hamburger combo, the Beyond Burger is a couple bucks more expensive, but not unreasonably so.

I've been pretty happy with their one-off West Coast offerings. Their hazy game still does nothing for me, though.

I had a pour of Recursion the other day that was really good. Better than I remember from years past.

Gotta agree with you on this. Their West Coast stuff has been pretty damn good the last few months.

Hot take - Staff of Asir is one of the best brews BL does - strong ale or otherwise. Thanks.

Loved it on draft but opened a bottle a month ago and hated it. From what I remember it was overly sweet and boozy. Maybe it was an off night for me. I have several more so I'll definitely revisit since I'm a big macadamia fan. Glad you enjoyed it!

It has a slug of sweetness, for sure - but I feel like it’s not a cloying sweet and the other notes carry the day.

FIRST to bitch about FO5 allocations at 6pp, thus ruining trade value :stuck_out_tongue::grin:

I love seeing the uptick in production and thus, lowering of its trade value. Meanwhile, folks are giving their lives away for overrated mess from Iowa.
