    It's warm/hot in the Philly burbs today. So I'm cranking the A/C and drinking a heavy beer. New Belgium's Honey Orange Tripel. It's a really nice looking beer. Clear, rich gold color with great lacing. It smells like a proper tripel and tastes like one, too. Coriander, clove, orange lemon & honey are all noticeable. The only drawback is that the honey on top of the flavors of candy sugars is a lot of sweetness. Still, a damn fine effort by New Belgium.

    Record moisture this year has led to a great strawberry harvest.

    An exceptional West Coast IPA that is at least on par with some of the best American examples of the style I've had. It's just bursting with a vivid, resinous pine character, almost like chewing on pine needles, as well as some very nice citrus and lighter tropical notes, with a great, sweet'ish caramel malt presence that gets balanced nicely by a strong bitterness in the finish.

    While this a lot better than the last NEIPA I had by Sudden Death, it's still far from great and certainly not worth the premium price they charge based seemingly on image alone.

    Good to hear! I'm looking for European piney beers (no Voodoo Ranger in these parts ... I love that beer). And this one is from Cloudwater. Made a note of this one. Sounds good!
    I hope I have a chance to visit their taproom again when I'm around Manchester in October.

    This is an overly sweet, syrupy and artificial tasting cherry beer, that is just barely saved from being totally disgusting by a nice, full mouthfeel and certain, light tartness and bitterness that just cannot overcome the sugary sweetness at all though.
