Lime gose in tequila barrels is supposedly next BA release.

Its been announced. And the next mothership series is a return of Cerise. 4/19 is the release of that, IIRC.

The Cerise? Don't like it. Rockin the casbah.

$16.99 for a 4 pack is damn good. I saw it for $20, $21.99 and $23.99 in metro Detroit. Oddly enough, the priciest was at Meijer.

Yeah, my wife even found it at our Meijer store today at $23.99. This store never, ever gets any hyped beers, so why now? Excess production?

Sounds like that store still doesn't get any hyped beers.

Since everyone usually just complains about Founder's BA Series I'll share that Mas Agave exceeded my expectations. Nose is straight up margarita. It's a fairly complex beer with sweet, sour, tequila barrel and salty making their appearance at various times on the palate. This is one I will buy again, unlike the countless other experiments they have brewed for themselves.

Interesting you said that, because it was legit the first beer I went back to buy again since maybe Breakfast Stout some 5-6 years ago. Perfect timing with the warm weather coming, this beer release was exactly what Founder's needed.

Just curious for those of you who really liked this one...How do you feel about their other Gose, Green Zebra?

I tried Mas Agave and Green Zebra, both for the first time, this past weekend.

I really liked the first half of the MA bottle; it really is like a beer margarita. But, like a margarita, I grew tired of it and barely finished the rest. Just too much mouth puckering lime and salt for me. It’s worth trying as I know quite a few people who really like it. But, just not my thing. Or too much of a few things...

On the other hand, GZ started well and ended well. It’s similar to MA with a tart flavor, but more cherry than lime, and balanced with watermelon sweetness and some salt. I found it very refreshing and would buy again. Probably a really good summer beer option, subject to trying it again.

Green Zebra is OK, a bit too sweet for me at times, one is enough.

The two beers are apples vs oranges.

The ABV pretty much limits me to one anyway.

MA is 10%. GZ a very crushable 4.6%; another reason to like it.

I like it a lot! Got a 15-pack in the fridge! (My wife got it, not me, but I drink most of it!)

Just announced Barrel Aged Sumatra Mountain Brown as a Barrel Aged Series releasing in August. They are calling it Underground Mountain Brown but it's the same beer.

Fuck. Yeah. Just saw this as well. On most days if you ask me, this is probably my all-time favorite Founder's beer. Cannot wait for this!

Also, can we just take a moment and recognize Founder's greatness and willingness to adapt. They are consistently releasing really good and requested BA series beers and satisfying demand (KBS and CBS regularly sitting on shelves). I know people kind of shrug nowadays (and I think that's just the beer scene slowing down in general), but 5 years ago these kinds of moves by Founder's would be unheard of.
