They definitely get stuff that Wegmans doesn't get, but if it's an IPA the chances of it being fresh are slim to none. Since it's Binghamton, I don't expect to get anything really all that good, so I just stick with Wegmans. The way they've been stocking the walk-in cooler with newer IPAs and having a dedicated Lawson's fridge is nice. They've also expanded their sours quite a bit since I moved there in 2011. Like I said, nothing special, but it's decent stuff in a rather barren place. I've had a bunch of bad experiences with the owner at Sam the Beer Man (I used to go there a lot when I first moved to the region), but the other workers are pretty nice. My department still gets our keg for our end of year party from them and things usually go well.

Stable Craft has already posted photos of them brewing their marzen for this fall.

In the meantime I'm still thinking of all the summer beers I'd like to get around to. Temps here stay fairly high for the next 3 months making it easy to keep that mindset.

Which, fortunately, I don't need to worry about

That's all very true. I'm just surprised and happy we can get what we have.

As a fanatic of fall beers, this time of year is very exciting to see who’s Oktoberfest will hit the shelf first. So far, according to Facebook posts, it might be Left Hand Brewing. They’re releasing theirs this week. It might just beat Leinenkugel and Blue Moon to the shelf this year!

Drinking a GLBC Oktoberfest bottled fresh today. There’s very few of the seasonals I look forward to having, but this has always been one of them. I’ve never had an oktoberfest taste completely similar to it. Still tastes good even when it’s 80 degrees out at midnight.

Used to love fall for Sierra Nevada’s tumbler and Vienna lager. Now they are no more. I guess i’ll drink that much more of their Oktoberfest and rebrew my Vienna lager which turned out very well last year.

We've still got pumpkin and Christmas beers on the shelf from last year. At least I assume they're only that old.

My fiance is in Boston for a work conference this week. She's stopping at the usual spot for me (Trillium) but she stopped by Hopsters Brewing, which I don't know much about, but she picked me up a mixed selection, and one of the ones was a pumpkin ale. Also, my local beer store has a bunch of last years Sierra Nevada Fall Packs lying around the store.

I think both Tumbler and the Vienna come in the fall pack every year still.

Their "Hoppy Marzen" or their regular Oktoberfest?

Left Hand Brewing brews a great Oktoberfest! Had it last year when I made a mix a six. I’ll keep my eye out for it this week. Central Waters also makes a good Oktoberfest.

From my understanding the fall pack has been discontinued. The only beer to survive is Ruthless Rye.

This is bad news! I love Sierra and I buy a lot of Pale Ale, Summerfest, Torpedo, Oktoberfest, and Celebration. But their insistence on replacing so many of their classic styles with underwhelming IPAs-of-the-moment (Brut, Sidecar, etc. - I'm sure we'll get more this fall) is annoying.

It was discontinued. I've complained about it in a few threads. It bothered me in the Spring and Summer, but will really suck this Fall and Winter. The replacement so far has been the sampler pack with mostly IPAs in it and their Helles. I believe their last seasonal pack before they discontinued them was their Winter pack this previous Winter.

I most certainly agree that there are far too many IPAs on shelves these days, but I have to admit that (after buying it by accident... it was mixed in with the Summerfest and had a better date) the SN sampler pack was pretty tasty.

Now, I don't agree with them calling their Helles a Helles, but it was an easy drinking beer and the rest of them quenched a citrus hop craving I didn't know I had.

I guess it goes to show that some breweries really focus on quality even if they're "experimenting."
