Couldn't agree more, even if it isn't "craft."

It was a good day when I could buy their porter off the shelf.

Shrug. They make nice beer, but, there's so many options, I rarely buy their stuff.

I used to drink a lot of their beer when I first got into craft. Now I buy CBS, and try any new BA beers, but otherwise don't really buy much Founders anymore.

Cheers to their pricing and their relative freshness. All the way out here on the west coast we can get 15 packs for 15-17$ and they are usually 4-8 weeks old at the good retailers around here. And last year I scored a few 15 packs of mosaic promise for 13$ once they were 6 months old (for me, refrigerated the whole time they were at the retailer, still a fine beer)

Carmudgeon, Backwoods Bastard, KBS, Breakfast Stout, Double Dancer, Barrel Runner and the classic Porter. All really good beers that I enjoy drinking and a cut above a most else you'll find that's nationally distributed. These guys are still killing it. The easier their beer is to find, the better.

I genuinely wonder how long this will last ... It seems like most breweries with wide to national distribution are pulling back given the constricting market.

All day IPA is where it is at for summer, folks!

Founders seem to be a bit different from other larger, distributing breweries with a variety of 15-packs which are priced economically. And needless to say but All Day IPA is a big seller. Maybe Founders has the 'answer' here for how to best compete in today's hyper-competitive craft beer market?

    Cheers!

That barrel runner was a strange beer, not a bad beer .. but very strange.

Fortunately, we're getting small drops of their beers, which helps with the freshness issue.

Founders has been in the AZ market for some time now. I have to give them credit, their products are always in code and tasty. For a larger outfit they seem to have decent controls in place, least in AZ (cannot speak for other states). Pricing is decent also.

They only recently came to CO. It's tough to tell how most of their line-up is doing, but All-Day isn't moving here like it does in most places. KBS and CBS don't seem to be particularly hot sellers either. Pricing is high and uneven depending on where you shop.
I'm glad to have Dirty Bastard and FBS, though. They both unique and the best or among the best in their respective genres.

And that is indeed the proper way for larger, distributing breweries to operate. More frequent but smaller in quantity drops to their partner Wholesale Distributors. I wonder if in your area it is because the Wholesale Distributor for Founders is prudently ordering in this manner? Or is Founders the wise progenitor of this business practice?

    Cheers!
