No more work in sight and I need a beer... Back on the evil twin nyc train drinking luxurious luxury volume one.. A collab with the veil and it is by far the best gose ive ever had..Imperial Berliner Gose brewed with marshmallow, italian plum, raspberry and merlot salt. Pink Starburst, Red berries, Stone fruit, Marshmallows. Tart. Medium-full bodied. Soft carbonation cheers

 

As I walked along the street, because of Earth's spin, I keep bending to the right into my liquor store. I ended up with this. Another Coriolis Effect... cheers.

 

Good morning/afternoon BAs! Another lovely day here in the Hills. This morning’s new local beer is a Russian Imperial Stout from Faction Brewing, Alameda, CA - “Imperial Stout”:



Black pour at 52 degrees; dark cinnamon tan head; good cap retention; thin ring, soapy lace; thin legs. 4.5
Roast malt (English 2-Row, Carafa III, Special B) nose. 3.5
Bitter roast malt, Baker’s chocolate, burnt coffee beans; some hoppy bitterness (Crystal, Cascade) as liquid warms. 3.75
Medium full body, moderate carbonation; dry, dusty feel; no warmth from the 8.5%. 3.75
Overall this Stout is too bitter for my liking; very bitter roast has a long linger. 3.75

Today we plan on visiting the Japanese Tea Garden, in Golden Gate Park...catch ya later!

Pushing my luck advocates.. Those imperial goses dont drink like 9%.. Tine to toss back some nelson courtesy of evil twin and monkish cheers

 

Jupiler 0,0 (from Belgium). Nice for warm summer days of course. But I would rather change this for a cold Kronenbourg. However still way better compared to most Dutch zero alcohol 'beers'.

At Twin Barns and drinking a Palmer’s Town NEIPA. Poured into a 16 oz regular pint glass at the source. Pours a slightly cloudy orange, a very thin head, that leaves a few wisps of lace behind. 3.5

Smell is apricot, tangerine, bready cracker, and a touch of grapefruit in the end. 3.25

Taste follows apricot, tangerine, biscuit, and a little grapefruit in the finish tasting more like an English IPA than NEIPA. 3.25

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, a tad dry, soft carbonation, and at 6% goes down easy enough. 3.5

Overall this is pretty good, but I am hoping this is a work in progress because once again not getting that juicy NE feel, but more that English malty bready thing. 3.5

 

Light yellow gold color with white cap and lacing.

Slightly tart aroma of somewhat vinous ripe fruit. Just a bit of graininess and grassyness.

Taste is a little more sour/tart than the scent implies with a flavor primarily of ripe fruit. It's a clean, clear natural fruit flavor that is somewhat lower in intensity than some other Passion Fruit beers I have tried. There is again a grassy touch that doesn't detract at all. Other than the fruit flavor I can't identify much else.
