Well here we go again. Bottles are available now at the source and probably selected retailers BUT......cans drop in two weeks. I'll take the drive up the hill then and grab a sixer and report back. I'm crossing fingers and toes that they get this right, the last batch wasn't bad but not close enough for me to recommend to others. Shawn has complete control now brewing Nelson and they did get the primo Nelson buds from their trip down under earlier this year. If it's 90% of the OG and readily available in cans it's a no brainer.

    Cheers,

I'm kinda looking forward to this batch in cans too. The last batch was okay. Better than previous batches. Hopefully the cans will see distro to the OC and LA area. What's the date you'll be visiting ABC Bud?

Shawn told me they think the cans will be ready in about two weeks. Once I know they will be available I'll run up the hill while I'm down in my SD office. If you want I'll grab you a sixer so you don't have to drive all the way down. I'm cautiously optimistic !

That sounds good Bud. Let’s meet up for the Cantillon bottle share then. I can tell you already what I don’t care for is the label change. But that’s on the outside. What counts is what’s inside the can.

I hear you man. That sounds like a great plan ! and us old OG Nelson farts can do a side by side tasting. I'll call you when I get em and we can set up our bottle share then. Something tells me this could be good :sunglasses:

I’ve been seeing stores in SD and OC getting the 6 pack bottles but not many in LA receiving them. Been anxiously awaiting either cans or bottles. I liked the last batch enough and definitely looking forward to this one. The market is saturated with haze, juice and milkshakes, this will be a nice change of pace even if it’s only on par with the last batch.

The wife is already on her 2nd 6er of the bottles here in Norcal. OG level, no. But I'll definitely agree its better than recent batches. All that said, I'm happily killing Westeez until I can find no more.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It sounds like the stars may finally be shifting into the right position, per OTB's original post. The last batch was decent, but it wasn't OG Nelson good. Fingers are crossed. I haven't been to Alpine since the buyout, but this might cause me to take the trip

Got a six pack last weekend, bottled 7/2. It's pretty bad, like first time I tried the shitty Green Flash version bad. Definitely not like the one last September, which was pretty tasty but still nothing like I remember the OG tasting.

Interestingly enough, my sixer so far has been a mix of both worlds. The first and fourth bottles I drank tasted like Green Flash’s first attempts, the second and third tasted just like last batch. I still have two to go, so hoping they are tasting like the most recent batch.

Davis Beer Shoppe. Draught and bottles. Purchased a single bottle first and consumed, before purchasing the 1st 6er for the wife.

I’m done chasing dreams, man. Alpine will never be the same, just like the first time I saw Pamela Anderson’s cans in HD - the glory days are over. Expo, Bad Boy... don’t buy into it!

Yeah but, to be fair, the first time seeing Pamela’s cans was glorious for 12-year-old-me and will never be forgotten. I’d put OG Nelson on that level but doesn’t mean I can’t peak at old less-than-HD quality photos for good time’s sake

But when HD came she was already 15 years past her prime. I bet in 1990 she looked amazing in HD

Alpine (ABC) is not terrible or bad or terribly bad. It’s just not original Alpine, anymore. Nothing like it was before Green Flush took over. Windows Up (fresh) is good. HFS (fresh) is good. The Big 3 (duet/nelson/pure hoppiness) is definitely not the same that we all enjoyed. Maybe for the newbies here it’s okay to good. But in today’s craft world there are so many different styles of IPA’s that even if they were able to taste the OG Big 3 they probably would think “this is no big deal” You won’t find anything with that terrible label Alpine in my fridge. Maybe once a blue moon I’ll pick up Windows Up or HFS. But it has to be fresh. I’m hoping to try this latest batch of Nelson in cans when it’s released. In the meantime if I see it in bottles I will buy 1 bottle for the hell of it.
    Cheers

Are the cans only available at the source, or are they hitting distro?
