I was doing some Oktoberfest research and I came across this contest by Sierra Nevada to get married at their brewery in Chico for Oktoberfest: http://oktoberfestwedding.sierranevada.com/
Ive been married for years now but I wonder how many people would be willing to be married at SN’s brewery in front of 3000 people? The cost savings are huge, the coolness factor is there but I would have had a helluva time convincing my wife to get married at a brewery

I may be a downer here, but the only part of my life that revolves around beer is my alcoholism. Not everything has to be a crossover.

That would be cool if your future wife was into beer. Mine probably wouldn't care for it very much.

My current wife hates when I use the phrase "my future wife".
(Hmmm... come to think of it, she's not too crazy about the term "current wife" either.)

I've always introduced my wife as "my first wife", starting on our wedding day.

A few years ago, we noticed that my birthdate is incorrectly listed our wedding certificate as seven years AFTER our wedding date. According to that my son is two weeks older than me.

Sometime when your wife complains to you about something, try saying, "My former wife complains like that too." See if she gets it. ( But don't do it if you think it will start any marital discord. Otherwise, you didn't hear that from me.)

Well, you could go to Chico and renew your vowels. It really helps with remembering how to spell.

Since, traditionally, the brides parents pay for the wedding, try floating the idea to the future Father-In-Law.... :sunglasses::wink:

Looks good on paper but if you ever call it quits Oktoberfest will be ruined for you. I wouldn't risk that.

There's a local brewery here that does weddings at the brewery.

They also do weddings at the Von Trapp Lodge in Vermont. I imagine it's beautiful.

Oktoberfest did start as a royal wedding, so I suppose this event is taking it all back to its roots.

In terms of doing this at SN...well, at least the drink selection would be reliable. I’ve been to too many weddings with only BMC available.

I love beer and I got married just this past May. My husband also likes to partake in a beer now and then and we had the beer flowing at our reception as well as an open bar. Even though they say a Wedding Day is all about the bride and most of it is, but we also had to think about the guests we invited and I don't think all of our guest would have enjoyed a drinking fest as my wedding. So since we also have a new home we occasionally invite just those friends who like drinking fests over to our home for those sort of things.
