Short's Brewing Company -- 2007 Anniversary Ale: Part One -- Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial IPA

Last year, I found a couple of these in our production facility's cooler, hiding amongst a bunch of random bottles. Cracked one open tonight and wow, simply an incredible beer.

I have a photo from the last fest when Abner was pouring and literally no one was in line because of all of the other crazy things on tap at the moment. Never thought I'd see that.

After three terribly mediocre beers, I'm back to old faithful. I think drinking anything other than Pliny the Elder in the same night is just setting myself up for disappointment.

Me too. Don't know what the big hype about this beer is. Honey is way too strong. My local place sold 25 cases in 1 day!

Okay, I'm in Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving and I've been drinking some Medalla, but... now I'm enjoying some Brooklyn Lager that I found in a run of the mill supermarket, sold next to the likes of Medalla, Corona, Coors Light etc.

This is a big deal folks, because while I've posted stuff on finding serious craft beer in interesting places here, I was shocked to find a craft beer while going to a regular old supermarket here in non-touristy Bayamon.

It means craft beer is slowly becoming mainstream and if we get stuck at that 5% market share or whatever it is now, it won't be for lack of trying. I just had some BL with Ani's Corona loving cousin, and he was impressed, and was telling me about more places around here that he heard had artisanal brews. He's ready to try some more.

I like it better than I did last year.

I'm actually about to eat a Mad Elf cupcake right now too (made by http://beercakesphilly.com/)

Moved from 2012 Parabola to a FW XVI. This is drinking really nice. Reveiws indicated it was either hot or a lot of tequila, I find neither to be the case. One of the better anniversary beers served fresh.

Having a Sam Adams Hazel Brown. Really liking this one, its the perfect beer after a run then dinner. Otherwise I might feel its a bit too drinkable for a brown ale. I can tell this one was more designed to appeal to a broader audience. Which is perfectly fine by me!

Last day of work tomorrow before the holiday, cheers! Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!
