Have a nice Sunday BA. I have a lot of stuff to do today. Bronchitis has not been getting any better. Stayed up all night again. Got some site work completed, still a ton left over.

Muscat Barrel aged Dark Lord. Fantastic as expected. Thick black pour. Minimal head retention/lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, fudge, white grape/wine, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Very mild herbal, grassy, roast, charred bitterness; wine/oak tannin spiciness; and wine tang/tartness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, slick malts; light sticky hops, chalky roast, and wine tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; zero cloying sweetness. Mild increasing warmth of 15%, minimal lingering booze. Dangerously smooth sipping for the weight/gravity. Amazingly rich malt complexity with sugar, coffee, and great wine barrel presence/integration; solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Glad I was able to try this, but still prefer the base beer a lot more. This wasn’t as fruity from the wine as I expected. Got better as it warmed. 4.25

I think its time to get back on board the Black Metal addiction.

First things first, I want to send a shoutout to @superspak ; get better, bro, you are a BA legend. As for Raul, I just don’t feel like going to sleep, ya feel me? Had a few Union Jack IPA’s tonight, along with some Hofbrau Originals - tasty stuff. Anyway, I wanted to change things up, so my roommate gave me one of his last Pacifico’s. Not bad, but definitely not my favorite Mexican beer. A wedge of lime sure would help. And of course, if you are interested, here is one of my first reviews - which happens to be Pacifico

On tap (yeah I know, crazy) at Wahoo's in Tustin, California.

So depressing. Many times I've cruised down to Baja sippin' on Mexi beers served with napkins on top. When I was 22 n under, I used to luv dat shit. But Raul done grown up and moved on to tha real goodies. And Pacifico? Sigh...

Even the most beautiful Ensenada Sunset couldn't save this monstrosity. And even fresh out of tha tap at my fav American/Mexican taco joint, it still tasted funky like dat stick of bubblelicious under your mama shoe. Smell? Skunk and/or nothing. Head? More flaccid than a sailor after a romp on tha town.

This beer nasty. But it could be worse, it could be Corona.

    Cheers!:

Awesome NEIPA. Great rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy pineapple, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit tang tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops; light resins/rind, and fruit tang in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 6.5%. Feels like Columbus/Summit along with the Galaxy hops. Super juicy/vibrant hops/fruit, with some dank/earthy notes; and a great balanced clean bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Glad I got the pack, this was a lot softer and less aggressive than the base beer.

Outstanding DIPA, been a few years. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, caramel, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/bready malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Dangerously smooth, not aggressive, minimal warming 9.1%. Cascade, Citra, Columbus, Chinook, Amarillo hops. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced dark/bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Will buy again next time I go to Ohio. Delicious classically hopped stuff!

Incredible NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malts, and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Insanely smooth/soft, minimal warming 6.7%. Feels like Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra. Super juicy and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. I feel like there is overall rating bias here because of the brewery. They nailed it. Would buy a 6 pack. It is year round after all.

Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops; with great balanced dark/black/roasted malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Glad I got the 4 pack.
