Thank you for the support in CO. There is not an exact schedule of deliveries but it has worked out roughly quarterly over the last year. We do not have a sales in the area, so it is Crooked Stave doing all the hard work for us there.

Figure I’ll ask since you’re around (which is pretty cool) I was wondering why, here on Long Island, I can get your flagships rather easily, but I have to really go out of my way to get any of the kellerbier series?

Is it a question of what you’re sending out or is it that the distributors don’t want to deal with unfiltered lagers, which (in their mind) might not sell as easily as, say, an IPA?Thanks in advance, it would be nice not to go an hour out of my way to get Grain and Gold, Shipping out of Boston or Heavy Trommel.

It is not being withheld from Long Island. It is probably a combination of our distributor still being somewhat new to the area that they are still focusing on placing core beers. If you let me know what your favorite store is I can have our own rep stop by. It is also a huge help if you let your store know you are looking for the kellerbiers.

You can also do a search at https://jacksabby.com/beer-finder/ We cannot directly check a store's stock, but this tool will list any store that has taken in a brand recently. Looks like Total Wine & More in Westbury received Gold N Grain, so if that is more convenient it would be worth giving them a call to see if they still have it in stock.

Thanks for the quick response! I’m not that close to Westbury but certainly not far enough to take the 20-30min ride. I love all your beer, but the kellers, in particular, are my favorite. If I have that hard of a time finding them, Bellport Beer seems to get them mostly too, I will take you up on your offer via PM. Thanks, and keep the great work up.

Just noticed Heavy Trommel is probably from February 20. It’s more than 5 months old, most likely. Is it still worth the purchase? I’m thinking...yes?

Sure why not? I really liked that beer a lot, and it's a style that shouldn't suffer too much with age. Jack's Abby isn't terribly expensive either.

    Give it a shot!

Heavy Trommel was an absolute banger and I can't imagine there's been much (if any) dropoff there in five months.

Should still be good. If you give it a try and it isn't, just let us know.

When in doubt, pour it out....into a glass and have a look and a smell, I am also thinking "Yes" on this one.
The Gold&Grain should be younger, I just tried it, another hit.

As long as everyone is talking about it, Gold & Grain is really nice. I went through one four pack right quick and just picked up another. The spelt comes through really nicely, almost like chewing on fresh grain, and the hops come through with a nice clean herbal bitterness to balance. It's a nice clean easy drinker with a surprising amount of meat on it's bones, flavor-wise.

Thank you so much for the hookup on that store. $10 a 4-pack for both plus they had Oatis, My Man. I will report back. But to get 3 4-packs of quality tallboy lager for $30, I am definitely stoked about that. (Plus they had $5 4-packs of relatively fresh tallboy Kostritzer cans...bang).

@guinness77 just say it wasn't good.

This way they have to brew more to replace your 4 pack, and we all get more!

    Sorry @AlcahueteJ
I cannot tell a lie. This is very nice. Bready chocolate/licorice smell and taste. A malty roast on the finish. Really easy to drink, a little velvet to that feel. Nice job, as always @JacksAbbyBrewing

Picked up a four pack of Copper Legend YESTERDAY. Seasonal creep notwithstanding - this baby was brewed 7/24 and it tastes fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever had it so fresh. Malty, crisp and damn refreshing. It got down to about 70-degrees last night so why the hell not.

I bought both and will enjoy them on alternate nights from moderately clean glassware.

Yup, I saw it too, the first Oktoberfest, and fall beer in general that I saw.

I'm going to pick it up today if I see. And I'll most likely drink some this weekend.

Don't fight it, it's ok. Drink these beers fresh.

When I was at Oktoberfest it was sunny and 75. I was wearing shorts.

A little history to entice you...

Oktoberfest was purposely pushed back a few weeks into September so the weather was nicer.

The historical background: the first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17 with a horse race. In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved to September.

By moving the festivities up, it allowed for better weather conditions. Because the September nights were warmer, the visitors were able to enjoy the gardens outside the tents and the stroll over "die Wiesen" or the fields much longer without feeling chilly. Historically, the last Oktoberfest weekend was in October and this tradition continues into present times.
