Starting today’s thread with the most exceptional CBS which is coming in 12oz bottle for America too. Great beer, although some will tell that for a cheaper price you’ll find just as much great Stout/Marple flavored stouts... regardless cheers and enjoy what’s in your glass today...

White Elm Peach Smash Fruit Beer, 5.5% ABV. Pours cloudy golden orange with a half finger white head. Nose is all peach, taste follows with slight sweetness, and no bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Have a nice Saturday BA. Had a lot of fun last night at a mini share at Ascension brewing company. Will have to go there again soon when they get some new stuff on tap. Got all the Crowlers I could get filled, most were not available to go because the kegs were getting low or something.

Fantastic wet hopped IPA. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7.4%. Amazing Simcoe, Citra, Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balancing bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Another easy winner from Lagunitas, will probably buy a 2nd pack. The hop bill is everything I love.

Beer #2 is Red Ale by Oceanbryggeriet from Gothenburg. Nice session beer, full of flavor but not too heavy.

Got a bunch of more site work to knock out this weekend.

Amazing as usual. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Similar aromas, slight booze as it warms. Mild herbal, roast, char bitterness; and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; amazingly creamy, silky, velvety, rich malts; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth, mild increasing warmth of 12.8%, minimal lingering barrel booze. They nailed this as expected. Way more mellowed out on the bitter hop/char character than the base beer from barrel aging. Insanely rich malt complexity, with perfect barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. BA Expo is still the best, but this is world class tier for RIS. Looking forward to the base coming back this year, but I still have some older ones in the cellar. Think this was my last bottle.

Dude, the hand and bowl nonsense is because of Swedish law...

Pretty sure it was the US that set those rules. If I’m mistaken you are very much welcome to prove me wrong.

According to Swedish alcohol legislation, you cannot show a person who is clearly under the age of 20 on a label on an alcoholic bottle. The age at which you can buy alcohol in Sweden is 20. You also cannot show a vehicle or weapon on a label. Because apparently, you will be so tempted to operate a vehicle or use a weapon that you can’t control yourself if you see a picture of it. And yes. ALL VEHICLES. I love Sweden, but sometimes we’re just nuts.

Well. Some people are upset that some of us use the term « PC » but unless these gentlemen have visited Blightly, Sweden or France they don’t have a clue what « PC » is.

This is my last 2018 The Wolf. It has a special "handle" label, by accident. I believe this beer was from a 4-pack @scream gave me. I really like both the 13.5% ABV and newer 12% ABV versions of this beer, and I am excited to try a variant or two at @scream's house next week.

It’s not really PC, it’s just a very rigid, slightly antiquated set of laws, that sometimes produce ridiculous results...

Omnipollo Fatamorgana. @AZBeerDude72 threw this in as an extra in this weeks trade box. Fantastic as always. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Dangerously smooth for 8%, almost refreshing. Great soft feel. Not as amazing as I remember when I first reviewed it 4 years ago, but still delicious. All Citra, Centennial, and CTZ hops. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice bready wheat/oat/malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness from lingering resin dryness. Delicious spot on NEIPA style. Was the first one I ever had originally.

The wheat & added spices really separates this version from others. Very well put together. I have one more night to work before three or four off. Cheers all and enjoy your Saturday!
