This is very serious thread about very serious beer... We never go off topic because that's against the rules.

On the Photoshop, tsk... tsk... Since you're are new you don't have the right to use the regular ACE label, that's for small tap room vets who had to endure wet hands after using the single head. You get the shiny DDH version for the shiny dry hand post wash room masses.

I don't think I have had a HF IPA, hopefully SD wins for me bc I don't want to like something more that's too hard to get.

For what it's worth, bars here in city have HF IPA on tap pretty regularly.

Yeah I know, but I do most of drinking at the brewery or at home/friend's from cans at bought at the brewery. At $5 bucks a pop for my beer fix I cut down drastically drinking at bars, most beers I buy on draft are at restaurants.

Only on this site and this thread could one be chastised for using that can label and not that unsightly exposed torso. This place is truly the Upside Down...Bizarro World.

But are the new taproom washrooms really that shiny compared to the old one? I know that in New York all bets on bathroom cleanliness are off, but I saw a toilet at OH recently that had seen some things, let me tell you...

La Slowteria is a very solid Mexican place (by NYC/neighborhood standards ok - so stay chill @JayORear) that I've pimped out on here a couple times - it's literally a 2 min walk from OH. Not sure if that's the one you're thinking of

Hm, looks good, I’ve never tried it. Will have to give it a shot.

The old bathroom was pretty archaic and the handwasher (even in the new space at first) basically just pushed the water down your arms lol

I think I also mentioned walking past https://theburritospot.com/ on the corner of Smith previously. Haven't went in but saw it when i was walking to/from the subway a few times. And then I think we tangented off talking about a place by where my GF lives that is pretty good

That’s the one I don’t like. It’ll do in a pinch, but it’s pretty mediocre. Burrito Spot, I mean.

I’ve never been but the place just gives off some major mediocre-and-will-be-closed-inside-a-year vibes

Yeah I'd agree with the look of it, like I said, i've never ventured in just happened to see it in passing

I swung by a few weeks ago and it was mostly fine. They were cool with BYO.

A couple of other Mexican ideas that are close-ish (in Gowanus):

Claro - to be clear this is not a $20+tip for three tacos and a margarita type place. I think it has a michelin star actually, even though the vibe is still low key. I went when they first opened a couple of years ago. On the first visit I enjoyed myself but wasn't that impressed when you factored in price. But my wife (hot as ever btw) and I went back a couple of weeks ago and had an excellent meal. Worth the splurge if you're looking to go a little extra on a meal.

Antojitos El Atoradero - I haven't actually tried this place yet - has anyone tried it? It's inside Parklife. I read the below piece a couple months ago and really want to try it (plus some of the other places mentioned). Cool back story.

I was a little underwhelmed by Claro.

Antojitos El Atoradero is great though. Definitely recommend. Very close to Threes too.

Other half’s story from 2 hours ago shows ACE, but I could have sworn their story from yesterday didn’t, and the one from day before said it was sold out. But I guess good news

since we're on the topic, if you were curious about the new Mexican place that took over Talde, it's pretty underwhelming. we tried it last week. we actually gave up our table at Fonda to go try it. bad move.
