    Hopefully not all of you poor saps have to work today. I'm on vacation much of this week and in need of some coffee this morning:

    Distinctive light gold color with white cap and lacing.

    Mild scent of rich yet dryish malt with floral, spicy hops.

    Taste upfront is about equal hop sharpness with rich malt yet that same sense of dryness. Curious about that I looked up the website to find there is rye malt in the mix. Ah, that explains things, rich malt with a spicy rye kick. In this brew the combination works with the diverse grain flavors blending well together and just enough firm hop kick to keep things in balance. Simple flavors in harmony, clean all the way to the finish with a bit of hop firmness at the end that concludes things nicely.

    A year ago I climbed into a rental truck after quitting a job I loathed a few days earlier to embark on another chapter of my life. It's been a fun journey and I've been blessed to share it with a special woman that I married 30 years ago today. Cheers to our better halves!
