    Likewise Sawdog505, this is looking like a good day. It isn’t my birthday but my girlfriend offered me a couple of very nice gifts and so did I.

    Unlike Sawdog505, however no holes are involved in our day.

    Oh I am drinking a new to me beer; Palm Royale... from Belgium... cheers everyone!

    Wotta ride it's been! I am saddened by their recent acquisition, but if I see anything else from them before their "Independent Craft" symbol is removed, I am still willing to give those beers a try. After that? I still have a backlog to run through so my buying will be VERY judicious.

    Good ol' Midnight the Cat is at the vet's today for a teeth-cleaning, so I'm his designated driver until this afternoon. Hopefully when that is done I can join in with a beer. Something tells me I'll be pretty thirsty by then.

    Hazy golden color with white cap.

    The aroma first struck me as sweet malt overlain with citrus and floral scents. It was after I read the label I realized those were due to the Kaffir lime leaves, ginger and chamomile. These scent tones are not strong by any means, rather sort of mild and very pleasant.

    Taste is medium bodied sweet grain with the citrus-floral influence present from start to finish. Rather simple flavors but well combined in a way that each complements the other. There is also a spicy element highlighted by the Belgian yeast notes of ripe yellow fruit and clove. A relaxing and pleasing combination.
