I actually liked Gull more than FS DDC, which surprised me. Space is still king, duh.
And severe weather was a nice treat, like a mild/porter combo. 3.8%? And it tastes like something. Saved the "big stuff" for Big North. Great evening...

 

sounds dangerously good (to me). If I can't get there today, which is sometimes possible that I don't go there (*that's sarcasm) while in Chicago) I'll be sure hittin' this at BN.

Just messin’. Don’t wanna ruin the surprise on any of the beers we prepped. There is definitely something for everyone though.

 

Big North is a resounding win for HA fans. What a great day.

Port barrel Orin was magic in a glass. The “Hut” series is also fantastic. So much fun. Thank you half acre.

 

Let me preface this by saying I am a huge HA supporter and I’ve attended every single big north event since the inaugural event... but this year was pretty whack. The timed variant releases were all disappointing. The hut/mixed culture beers were the only brews that did it for me. The bulk of the product pouring was quite “meh”. The music was awful too. Think I will finally be sitting this one out next year unfortunately

 

I'm probably the biggest HA homer there is...but this year felt different. I thought it was smart to move Benthic outside, but it felt more crowded everywhere than years past.

As far as the beer...I was happy with my constant rotation of On the Lawn, Double Daisy and Logue...but did anyone else feel like there was less variety? Maybe it felt like there was more beer last year and the year before because there were more stations?

I don't knkw, have to sit on this one for another day or so.

 

Well, I wouldn’t say I feel the best I ever have! Great hanging out with @kbergen28 as always.

I refer to The Big North as “Our New Years Eve”. There’s quite literally nothing better than seeing that many people enjoying our beer, partying and having fun.

Now back to BMO to clean-up the place.

 

This year did feel a lot busier and crowded. I liked and did not like the consolidation of Benthic. I liked stumbling upon a variant pouring at a station. But the specific station helped keep the line in one area.

Also I know some people like harder rock. But that first band was a tough listen. Just really hard to chill and drink beer with friends with heavy metal blaring

Nonetheless, amazing festival. Really got to explore Half Acre’s sour beers. Can’t wait for next year

 

vanilla rising ghost tasted like someone dumped 1/2 a bottle of imitation vanilla extract into my glass.

 

I tried everything! People were waiting in that long ass line to the left of the large beer stand when the line on the right had no people in line. I didnt understand that lol.
