Good morning, have a nice Sunday BA. Hope everything goes well tomorrow back at work.

Hardywood Bourbon GBS. Was a big want for me for a while. 10/2017 bottling. This was fantastic. Nice fluffy head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, honey, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, bourbon, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, raisin, fig, date, licorice, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness; and cinnamon/ginger/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky spice, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy/tannic dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Super smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 10.6%, minimal lingering barrel booze. Really impressive as expected. Amazingly balanced between rich malts, honey, spices, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Not overwhelming on any aspect. 4.25

    Morning Folks,
Had this weird stiff neck/shoulder thing going on for a few days. Slept wrong or something. :unamused:
Anyways it had me up early today and last night. Figured some coffee and bourbon will help smooth things out.

The Veil Sleeping Forever 2019. This was incredible. One of the densest/blackest things I have ever seen. Great head retention, light spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, fudge, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of apple brandy, vanilla, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very minimal herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and super full bodied; extremely creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness; slight sticky hops, chalky, roast, and increasing dryness. Zero cloying/acrid. Insanely smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 12%, no lingering booze. Apple Brandy is mostly only prominent in the nose. This is a blend of the base beer and BA one though. Amazingly rich malt complexity; solid barrel presence, and just enough earthy hops. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Really loved it. 4.28

The new Lagunitas Newcastle Version. This was excellent! Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and brown bread dough/crust; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, smoke, raisin, plum, fig, pear, red apple, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Similar/muted aromas, slight touch of diacetyl. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; very creamy, bready, grainy malts; some sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very flavorful, pretty refreshing, not watery for 4.7%. This is substantially better than the Heineken brewed version. Awesomely clean/rich English malt complexity; with nice noble hop presence/balance, and restrained fruity yeast. Mild residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. Glad I got the pack. Will buy a second one. I don't have a go-to English brown ale, this is the one!

Happy Sunday BA's! 3.5 hours work completed, short pour of KBS while I kickoff laundry and prep the grocery list. Little break in the rain but looks like another wet one sooner or later.

Singlecut 18-Watt. Excellent session IPA. Glad they are in MI now. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, anf fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops; some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, pretty refreshing. Very flavorful/not watery for 5%. Feels like a lot of Citra/Simcoe! Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great bready malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Would buy again for sure, one of the better session IPAs I've had.

Outstanding blonde ale. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange, honey, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; with lighter notes of peach, pear, melon, red apple, herbal, floral, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Creamy, bready, grainy malts/honey; some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 5%. Awesome balance between clean/nicely rich pale malts and citrus/floral honey complexity; with solid earthy Nugget hop presence/balance, and restrained fruity yeast. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. One of the best standard American blondes I've had in a long time. Would get another pack this summer.

Good morning, BAs! I haven’t seen new Foreign Objects cans in these parts for many months, but stumbled upon 3 newish ones yesterday at my old no-longer-favorite bottle shop. They seem to have stopped caring about freshness. Many ipas from Jan/Feb still in their coolers. This one at least is from July (7/17) so I’ll take it.
The other 2 FO cans I bought were undated, so going to play some ipa roulette later today.
