What beer are you drinking now? #2497

Good day BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Hazy (intentionally so) light yellow color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of citrusy hops, something like grapefruit but not so strong and just a hint of malt.

Flavor on entry is mildly hoppy, more of a lemon zest tone to it, oddly the hop taste is less intense than the aroma and seems to be a different fruit. It's not disjointing, actually rather pleasant, just noticeable that it smells of one yet tastes of the other. Malt joins in mid palate and rides to the end, but hops stay on top of things and linger in the aftertaste.

Good morning, all! I'm drinking this, and I'm reasonably certain that no one else on the planet is at this moment: Mungatt, a braggot from Mjödhamnen, Hällefors, Sweden. One of the bottle shops here got this in as an extra with a mead delivery. It was developed for Grimfrost, a company that deals in "authentic Viking products." This is rich and complex, similar to a dubbel without the yeasty overtones. Caramel, dark bread, and dried fruit (figs, raisins), with a silky mouthfeel and a peppery hop kick. Well attenuated, not overly sweet, and with a mostly dry finish. One taste will tell you that this is very well crafted and worthy of a drinking horn (one of which I own; I just wasn't thinking too clearly this morning ). Anyway... Skål!

 

Californishire. A West Coast Pale Ale from Magic Rock and Bagby Beer. In fact a combination of two styles; Yorkshire Bitter and West Coast Pale Ale.

I'd forgotten how fantastic this beer is until last night. Was my closer at my local taproom. I love the honey like note on the back palate. Cheers!

 

Revisiting an old classic. Happy to find this just a couple weeks old in NH.
