Good morning, all! I had high hopes for this Más Agave. An imperial lime gose brewed with agave and aged in tequila barrels? What could possibly go wrong? Well, I'll tell you. It's so sweet as to be damn near undrinkable. Don't get me wrong; I love a good classic margarita. This is more like a "margarita" made with a corn syrup-laden store-bought mixer. It does have a saving grace, however: plenty of salt and alcohol. ¡Salud!

I have a bunch of Eagle Park beers to get through before I go there in 2 weeks. @beermanben gave me this one, in addition to a nice selection that I will be drinking later. This is my first weekend at home, without my young children, after my wife and I separated. The options that I have for today seem endless, as I have been in a certain routine for many years. However, every time I think of somewhere to go, or something to do, I just conclude that the better option would be to drink the delicious beers that I have in my refrigerator, on my porch, and hang out with all of you at the virtual bar.

Have a nice Saturday BA. Nothing much planned for today. Been meaning to hit the Music store and get some guitar cables though. Slept in a bit longer than usual.

This is still tasting fantastic. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart blueberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, and raisins. Light roasted bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Light roast malt chalkiness, fruit tang/acidity, and increasing dryness. Never cloyingly sweet, but definitely a dessert beer. Amazingly smooth, minimally warming 10.5%. A near perfect balance of berries, cocoa/vanilla, rich malts, and barrel character. Tons of flavor complexity, and it all comes together extremely well. I've always been a big fan of fruit stouts, so I'm not surprised how much I loved this one. Seems pretty polarizing to most people, but this is one of my favorites from the barrel series. This is the 15th bomber I've had, have 2 more and can still buy more. Well worth the price. Hope they make it again some day. It has actually gotten less sweet over the last 2.5 years, a bit more berry tartness right now. Still love it!

The six year old figured since she now gets up at 7 for school, she might as well do it on Saturday too. The regular version of Oswego Brewing Company’s first anniversary beer to start the day.

Long walk to park with my dogs done. Starting today with “Double Dunk”, an Imperial Stout with Oreos added, from Prairie Artisan Ales:

    3.75 | 3.75| 4.0 | 3,75 | 3.75

Pours dark brown almost black at 56 degrees with fast fizzy tan cap that disappeared immediately; oily residue on top; no ring or lace; no legs. Chocolate cookie nose. Taste is vanilla and semi sweet chocolate; booze on finish. Smooth feel, full minus body, moderate minus carbonation; some alcohol bite (11.9%) on the tip of tongue. Overall, not a good looking beer; it kinda does taste like an Oreo cookie dunked in booze, but disappointing given the high price tag.

Cheers and have a great Saturday y’all!

Excellent IPA as usual. Glad they went to cans(year round). Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Pretty refreshing for an IPA. Really great balanced dank/earthy/piney and citrus/tropical hop vibrancy; with a nice malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness from lingering crisp drying. Feels a bit more dank and resinous than I remember in bottles, but it's fine by me. Azacca, Mosaic, Citra, Warrior, Simcoe, & Calypso hops. Will definitely keep buying it.

Still tasting amazing. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very smooth and creamy/bready/grainy wheat/oat mouthfeel; light sticky hops and acidity. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tart dryness. Amazing soft spot on mouthfeel for the style. Super drinkable for 6.8%. Super juicy/lightly dank hops with awesome balance of strawberry flavorings. Perfect wheat/oat/malt balance, and not overly sweet/heavy for the style. Can't say I prefer it over the base beer. Equally amazing spot on NEIPA. Hope they package some other variations eventually. Base M-43 is my top most purchased beer right now.

Starting my day off with this American barleywine from Anchorage...
Chaos... Features Mosaic, Citra, and Vic Secret hops; double dry-hopped with the Citra and Mosaic... Aged in Missouri oak foeders (I don't know what makes Missouri special here, but ok... lol) from Foeder Crafters of America...
Aromas of sweet pine resin and dark citrus peel and flower... Sweet, chewy, shellacky on the sip... Moderate bitterness creeps in quickly and coats the palate; sharper notes of citrus and oak tannin are energetic and titillate the taste buds... Medium-full body has some heft and chew, coupled with the bitter shellac of resin, but softened by a gentle carbonation that kept a thin film of fuzz atop the beer throughout... A classic barleywine reminiscent of Bigfoot, Old Guardian, and Old Numbskull...

    Here's that artwork...

Incredible IPA as always, one of my main classic favorites. Lasting thick head retention/lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light honey/caramel malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resins/rinds. Fairly crisp/drying, and extremely drinkable; never astringent. Never gets old, always fantastic. I will always love classic C hopped beers, even with all of the new hop varieties around. Awesome vibrant/juicy, and fairly dank/earthy Centennial hops; great balancing bready Munich malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering crisp resin dryness. Been keeping it around more often this year. Just got a fresh pack recently.

Happy Saturday, BAs! Starting out with this wishlist beer from @Vidblain . I love the taste of pineapple in an ipa, and this one is chock full of that tropical hop taste. Big winner.
